FITTER & TURNER: WORKS (PATERSON GRADE LEVEL C2)

DEPARTMENT OF WATER, WASTE & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Purpose of the Job

To maintain the mechanical equipment in the Purification Works/Plant and at the reticulation pump stations, and to manufacture different equipment / parts for the Sewerage Purification Works, the Sewerage Reticulation Network and for other Departments as requested.

Key Performance Areas

? Pump Station Equipment within the Works as well as on the reticulation network ? Mechanical equipment in purification works ? Design and construction ? Administration, housekeeping, safety and supervision

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Educational Qualification

Minimum Experience Required

? Grade 10 (minimum 23 points) Plus a Trade Diploma in Fitting & Turning

OR

? Grade 12 (minimum 23 points) Plus a Trade Diploma in Fitting & Turning

? 6 years experience in the maintenance of pumps in a water purification environment, of which at least 1 year should have been in a supervisory capacity.

OR

? 4 years experience in the maintenance of pumps in a water purification environment, of which at least 1 year should have been in a supervisory capacity.

Minimum Experience Required

? Code BE Driving Licence

Remuneration

? Basic Salary

: N$ 369 608.00 pa

? Transport Allowance : N$ 10 800.00 pa

? Housing Allowance : N$ 151 539.28 pa

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER ASSISTANT

(PATERSON GRADE LEVEL B4)

Purpose of the Job

To promote environmental health in the community as a member of the health team and to assist the Environmental Health Practitioner in the control of real and possible environmental health hazards that might threaten the health and safety of the residents.

? Inspections and advice ? Community mobilisation and health education ? Pest control activities and water connections ? Administration

Minimum Educational Qualification

? Grade 12 (minimum 23 points) Plus a 2-year Certificate in Environmental Health

Minimum Experience Required

? 2 years relevant experience during which the incumbent had to provide a significant amount of health education

Special Requirements

? Driving licence code B ? Registered as Environmental Health Assistant with the Allied Health
