GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

September 5, 2020

President David Zimmerman called the September 5, 2020 General meeting to order.

He welcomed all new members and guests and thanked everybody for coming.

Birthdays for September are: #3539 Tracy Aide on the 10th, #3357 Tim Ellis on the 11th, #1963 Rick Hickman on the 18th, #1379 Sally Crumley on the 1st, #2744 John Burton, #3544 Danny Satterfield on the 9tth, Joe Schmidt on the 8th and #3478 Christina Priddy. HAPPY! HAPPY ! HAPPY!

Anniversaries for September are: Ray & Kathy Sparks on the 30th. Rodney and Heidi Lung 6 years on the 27 , David and Brenda Zimmerman 22 years on the 11th, Michael and Jennifer Dawkins 19 years on the 22nd and Greg and Kristi Oliver 15 years on the 9th. HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY!

#2549 Ed Nefferdolf made a motion to accept the August 1, 2020 General Meeting minutes as posted in the newsletter. #2890 Barbara Lawson seconded. Motion carried and passed.

Treasurer Judy Johnson gave the August 2020 Treasurer report as follows:

Checking Ending Bal $30,521.23

#2890 Barbara Lawson made a motion to accept the August 2020 Treasurer report as read. #1433 Don Ferguson seconded. Motion carried and passed.

Membership Director Ed Nefferdolf gave the August 2020 Membership report as follows:

There will be a Metal Detecting Hunt October 3, 2020 starting at 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Auraria Community Center. They will be burying clad and silver coins. Ed Nefferdolf and Ben Tighe volunteered to help with the hunts until a new Hunt Master could be found. If you are interested in becoming Hunt Master please call President David Zimmerman for more information.

OLD BUSINESS:

Membership Director Ed Nefferdolf gave a report on the scout troop that came from Senoia, Fl. On August 15 and 16.There were 8 scouts and 2 adults. Their trip was a washout due to the rains. They said that they would come back at a later date.

The workday on August 29th on the Turner property went really well. Had a good turnout and they got everything cleaned up for the picnic. Thanks to all the volunteers who gave their time to help.

President David Zimmerman opened the floor to all the candidates to give a 5 min. campaign speech. The following gave their speech: Michael Dawkins, Judy Johnson, Tommy Casse, Robert Samples and Ed Nefferdolf.

Roger Moore told the members that he was not running again for office. He said that he wanted to take a break. He thanked everybody for electing him to fill the office of secretary, board, and President over the years. He wished the best for the club and hope that it keeps on prospering.

NEW BUSINESS:

President David Zimmerman told the members that the board approved to pay $884.00 for the General Liability insurance.

The meeting times will change for the October 3, 2020 meeting.

New Properties Finders Fee

It is the policy of the WEGM to reward its members with a finders fee for locating new properties for the club to lease. The member will be paid $240 or receive credit for $240 in membership dues upon the club approving the lease for club use. The member must act as an agent between the landowner and the WEGM. To receive the finders fee, you must register in writing with the club secretary your intent to begin discussing a proposed lease with the landowner. You cannot receive the finders fee unless registration is complete and the lease is approved by the WEGM.

STANDING RULES

1. No use of alcohol on Association outings.

2. Smoking will not be permitted at Association meetings or activities unless held in the open air.

3. Members are expected to adhere to the Association’s Code of Ethics while prospecting or mining

4. Members are expected to conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the laws of the land and reasonable moral behavior

5. Violation of Standing Rules will result in disciplinary action as determined by the Executive Board of Directors

6. The President, Vice-President or their appointed spokesperson(s) are the only people authorized to speak on behalf of the WEGM

7. Regular monthly meetings will be held on the first Saturday of each month at a scheduled time as stated in the club newsletter and website

8. Fun must be had by all
