RENEWAL PROCESS OF THE STATE ISSUED PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR CERTIFICATE EXPIRING ON JUNE 30, 2020

The Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Educator Certification recently launched a new online certification system. We are currently accepting application/payment for the Professional Educator renewable certificate expiring on June 30, 2020 (no early renewals allowed). To ensure the process of your renewal application in a timely manner, please follow the steps below.

Step 1. Create a profile in the Online Licensing Service (If you haven't done so already) at Creating an Educator Account and Onboarding guide (PDF) Tips: Read the instructions carefully. Use your email as the User ID ? easier to remember but you can choose the user id that you prefer. Click Yes to the Email Communication question. The state issues all correspondence via email including the certificate. Write down your User ID and Password (keep it safe). Creating multiple accounts will prevent you from completing the renewal application.

Step 2. Complete the Renewal application at Instructions on completing the Renewal Application Guide (PDF) Tips Read the instructions carefully. All areas on your certificate will be renewed unless you select "Deletion" If you answered Yes to any of the questions in the Legal Disclosure section, you must provide detailed complete information for each Yes response within the corresponding section in the Legal Disclosure Supplement. Not doing so will delay the renewal process. Even if you have provided the information before, you must do it every time you complete a certification application. If using MPP completed through Beacon Educator, please select "Inservice Credit" in the renewal method section. You do not need to upload any documentation. Our office will verify the completed MPP to the state once the renewal application is processed. Select District 13 Miami-Dade as your district affiliation. This will ensure we could process the renewal application. Keep a copy of the renewal application for your records.

Step 3. Complete the Renewal application payment at roperties/Category.aspx?categoryid=DX305 Guide for online payment Guide (PDF) Tips: STOP, if your 5-year professional certificate does not expire in June 30, 2020 do not submit the renewal payment. Our office can only process renewal applications for certificates expiring on June 30, 2020. Read the instructions carefully. The renewal application fee is $75.00 only. Do not submit $75.00 for each coverage on your active certificate.

Add yourself (employee # and Name) when creating the Student Profile. The Online School Payments system was originally created for parents to pay for their kids' school dues.

If you have completed the required MPP using a different employee # from your current one, please add the employee # in the "Purchase Notes" section. You may add any comments that you think will be helpful in processing your renewal application.

Keep a copy of the payment for your records.

A complete application includes both the online renewal application and the $75.00 renewal application payment. An incomplete application will not be processed. Application fee is non-refundable.
