Parents, if you do not see assignments weekly, please question your child and feel free to contact me.~ We use technology daily with all assignments posted on my Power School Learning page. ~ Students will use various websites often. They can access these sites at home to complete unfinished assignments or to improve their reading comprehension. (Frequently used sites are Read Works, NEWS ELA, and Flocabulary). ~ Students will complete a project or book report each quarter. ~ Students use Interactive notebooks in which they will complete daily assignments in addition to weekly assignments.~All grades can be found in the PowerSchool Gradebook. Students can access these grades on campus or from home. Make-up work may be specific material missed by the student or it may be of a reinforcement or enrichment nature. A parent or student may request make-up assignments for an absence of two (2) or more consecutive days. Make-up work will be completed promptly. Students will have one (1) day to complete make-up work for everyone (1) day absent. Grades assigned to make-up work shall be considered in computing the student's overall grade for the particular grading period. Failure of a student to satisfy make-up requirements can be the basis for denying credit for a specific course. (AR 5110)Assignment Weights: Tests/Projects- 30%Classwork/Participation- 30%Quizzes - 25%Homework (AR 6154)- 15%100 Point Grading ScaleA 90 - 100B 80 - 89C 70 - 79D 60 - 69F 59 – and below**** No student shall receive a final reporting mark that is lower than a 50. ***End-of-Grade (EOG) tests and grade-specific NC Final Exams for science and social studies will count for 20% of the student’s final grade in a course unless it would reduce a student’s grade in which case it will not be counted and the final grade will be determined using the existing quarter averages. End-of-Course (EOC) tests and course-specific NC Final Exams will count as 20 percent of a student’s final grade for that course.
