I have, at present, been unable to ascertain how they met and married, as he was living in Wymore, Nebraska at this time, and she was living in Washington, Kansas. They seem to have stayed for a few years in Kansas after the marriage, as their first two sons, Melvin P. and Dallas W. were both born there. By 1914, they had again moved back to Wymore, Nebraska where their two youngest sons, Harold and Paul, were born in 1914 and 1918.In the 1920 Federal Census, the family is shown to be living in Oak Creek, Nebraska, and he is listed as a baker.By 1930, the family had again moved, this time to Shelton, Nebraska, where they had a family bakery. The story goes that the Burright Bakery and Burright’s All Right Bread, were doing very well through the Roaring 20’s. Melvin was looking to expand on the bakery operations and spread out into more of the state, as the boys were coming of age to run more locations. He had all his cash assets in 3 separate banks, and when the crash in 1929 occurred, all 3 banks closed and he lost everything. The expansion of the bakery never happened. In the 1940 Census, he is back in Wymore, Nebraska with a bakery, but when WWII broke out in 1941, the family moved to San Diego, California, in search of better prospects.Melvin passed away on December 7, 1944 in San Diego. The story is that he was not feeling well for a few days prior, and on the morning of Dec 7, after shaving and getting ready for the day, came out into the hall of the house and had a massive heart attack and died in the house. He was brought back to Wymore, Nebraska, and is buried in Wymore Cemetery with many other Burrights. ................
