THE BACKSTORY

Chapter One

1

HEART

In the heart of Central Florida, Orlando pulses with two million people. Established in 1875, it changed forever when Walt Disney World opened its doors in 1971.

Ever since, Orlando has been on a fast track of economic growth in the sectors of marketing, banking, law, architecture, biomedicine and construction.

Today, Orlando draws more and more families to its neighborhoods and welcomes more than 52 million visitors (more than any other U.S. city) every year.

GROWTH

The growth of The City Beautiful created a downtown without a nucleus. One of the most imaginative places in the world needs a culturally diverse center of momentum, energy and power... enter the Creative Village Orlando.

VISION

The vision for the Village is to become a central-hub home for the foundation of the creative class. To become a place where the profession of futurefocused students and knowledge-driven businesses can call home, grow and thrive.

FOCUS

Stretching across 53 acres, educational facilities focused on arts and sciences, spin-off and startup companies and creative venues join cutting-edge businesses and supportive storefronts. The area is complemented with a wide variety of restaurants, bistros and shops and even residences for executives, families and students alike.

The Creative Village is destined to be what the City of Orlando is to the world...the most desirable destination of creative energy.

3
