Can you tell us about the Shepherd’s Hope Health Center and your involvement with the clinic.Why is it so critical to our community that every person be given access to state-of-the-art medical care?What types of fundraising and recruiting programs allow the clinic to continue providing free medical care for the uninsured and low-income families? I’m sure there are many patient stories that serve as a reminder for why you became a doctor. Is there one in particular that stays with you? Can you tell us about the medical missions trips you take with residents and what impact is has on them.What inspires you to reach so far beyond your daily role as Director of Medical Residency to run Shepherd’s Hope, take mission trips and other community outreach programs? I want to understand how patient care at Florida Hospital caters to the whole person and not just the disease. Can you describe some of the unique ways that Florida Hospital helps patients during the healing process. In addition to your fellow physicians, the patient experience is often enhanced from support staff – special volunteers, chaplains, admin staff – is there anyone in your daily dealings that you often see going the extra mile? And how do you think that type of interaction benefits patients? In the campaign we are working on, we say that “generosity heals”. It’s a way for a patient to make a donation in honor of a Florida Hospital team member who made a signficant impression on them during the healing process. Some might call it “paying it forward”. How do you think this aligns with Florida Hospital’s overall mission?What could you tell someone who has never considered things like a mission trip, volunteering or donating? ................
