Regular Standards - Social Sciences Courses (Economics, Geography, History, or Political Sciences) Option 1: Eligible for or holds a valid Florida Temporary or Professional Certificate in the appropriate ESE coverage AND in Middle Grades Social Science 5-9 or Social Science 6-12 AND a passing score on the corresponding Florida subject area examination in Middle Grades Social Science 5-9 or Social Sciences 6-12
Option 2: Eligible for or holds a valid Florida Temporary or Professional Certificate in the appropriate ESE coverage AND in Middle Grades Social Science 5-9 or Social Science 6-12 AND a degree in either Economics, Geography, History, or Political Science which will make the teacher only Highly Qualified in that area of social sciences
