Service: On-the-Job Training for AdultsOn-the-Job Training (OJT) is a time-limited individual skill acquisition that can be learned on the job. On-The-Job Training occurs in an integrated, community-based employment setting where most of the employees do not have disabilities and the individual with a disability who is completing the OJT is paid no less than minimum wage and interacts with individuals without disabilities to the same extent that other individuals in comparable positions interact with other persons.Benchmark: OJT PlanBenchmark Definition:The plan is an inventory of individualized interests, resources, and needed accommodations as relates to future possible paid work experiences.Service Requirements:One (1) referral open at a timePlan must be signed by the Provider The Counselor must review the plan within 10 business days from the date of submission to approve or reject the OJT PlanMust be completed and submitted in an Approval Notice (NOA) to the Counselor through eReferral/PERM within sixty (60) days of the referral acceptance date.Must have an approved progress report for each month of service since the referral acceptance date.Deliverables:OJT PlanApproved progress reports Evidence of Completion:OJT Plan with signaturesGuidance:One (1) benchmark per open referralWhen planning for this service, the experience must match the Customer’s IPE goal.The Customer’s work preferences and identified strengths and capacities should be taken into consideration.An Employment Services or Supported Employment referral may be beneficial to the Customer in conjunction with this service as identified by the Counselor and Customer.Labor market information should be used when identifying OJT experiences related to the preferred job goal.The Customer must be fully integrated in the work environment to include appropriate clothing. The VR Counselor, Unit Supervisor, and Area Supervisor must all review and approve this form prior to the OJT. Please keep in mind that this is a request for an exception/special permission and the OJT may not be approved. Failure to complete this process prior to the OJT start date will result in the benchmark payments being denied.
