JOB TITLE: Director of Housing Services

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BSW or Bachelor's Degree in human services preferred.

2. Two years in human services; crisis counseling preferred.

3. Must be self-initiating person who can work independently with minimum supervision.

4. Experience working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors preferred; interest and concern for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

5. Must possess sound judgment; excellent problem solving skills; excellent decision making skills.

6. Strong advocacy skills and familiarity with community systems serving survivors of domestic violence.

7. Attend training, planning and regular meetings as needed/required.

8. Excellent organizational skills and team leadership skills.

9. Ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.

10. Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.

11. Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

12. Demonstrated communication skills, including excellent writing skills; reliable transportation.

13. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

14. Maintain accurate documentation and complete written reports as required by position.

15. Ability to climb Hillmann House stairs several times a day and ability to lift reasonable amount of weight, i.e. client bags, donations, etc.

16. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Universal Essential Functions:

1. Be familiar with and adhere to the DASAS policies and performance standards.

2. Pass annual criminal background checks and DHS central registry checks.

3. Maintain an open, friendly, professional relationship with all staff and clients, to include respect for culture, diversity and ethnicity.

4. Attend training, planning and regular meetings as needed/required.

5. Foster communication among staff to promote strong, supportive teams and resolve conflict in an appropriate problem solving manner.

6. Maintain accurate documentation and complete written reports as required by position.

7. Ability and willingness to comply with DASAS Ethical Standards in their entirety.

8. Knowledge of computer software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) and internet is required; familiarity with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing applications also preferred.

9. Attend the MCEDSV New Service Providers training or DASAS equivalent as soon as possible after being hired.

General Essential Functions:

1. Collaborating with other DASAS and community agency staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

a. Maintain list of resources available for client needs.

2. Advocating for the needs of domestic violence survivors through participation on the DV/SA task force and other interagency collaborative groups.

3. Leading systems change efforts on behalf of domestic violence and sexual assault victims/survivors; advocating for the need of victims/survivors through identifying areas of concern and needed change for community work groups.

4. Keeping all necessary records, reports, and statistics and collecting outcome measurement surveys in a respectful anonymous manner.

5. Attend a minimum of 24 hours of additional trainings per year.

6. Performing other tasks as directed by the Executive Director.

Position Specific Essential Functions:

1. Provide oversight and supervision to Volunteer and Victim Outreach Coordinator.

2. Provide education regarding Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault victimization dynamics and response to victims to enhance community coordination of services.

3. Keeping all necessary records, reports, and statistics as needed.

4. Ensure appropriate documentation is managed (i.e. VOCA staff timesheets, outcome measures/surveys).

5. Supervise Non-Residential Advocacy staff, providing feedback and guidance as needed.

a. Review case files no less than quarterly.

6. Coordinate staff meetings with Leadership Team.

a. Ensure agendas are prepared and minutes are taken.

7. Participate in all aspects of hiring Non-Residential advocacy staff, including reviewing applicant resumes and scheduling and conducting interviews.

8. Provide all agency training/education regarding DV/SA victimization dynamics and response; ensure that DASAS training manual is comprehensive, up to date, and available to all staff and volunteers.

9. Participate regularly with DASAS Leadership Team in decision making and reporting as needed with grant writing, financial disbursement, opening mail, etc.

10. Attend Board meetings/committee meetings as request, providing training regarding victimization as assigned.

11. Rotate on-call responsibilities with other staff.

12. Provide transportation for clients necessary appointments regarding victimization, and court proceedings/meetings with law enforcement. (amount of travel is based on the need of survivor)

Full time position

Salary Range: Pay is based on experience

Includes cell phone and mileage reimbursement
