Throughout her college career, Mai has proven to be an outstanding student and she has been involved in various cultural clubs on campus. This year she is Secretary of the Korean-American Cultural Club, working to develop creative events that integrate Korean culture into her campus community. In addition, she regularly volunteers in her community, such as packing meals for the hungry or working with homeless shelters. Food has been a large part of her cultural life growing up and her interest in nutrition continued throughout her years in college. They developed a unique and exclusive nutrition rating program, Dietitian’s Choice, which identifies nearly 6,000 grocery products in its stores that support overall health. The program is science-based, and rates items based on nutritional density, favoring products with whole grains listed as the first ingredient. Items that earn the designation are also lower in sodium, added sugars and saturated fats, or they are food considered a good source of healthy fat and protein. The Coborn’s Registered Dietitian Team also continues to educate guests through its Food Facts program, which provides valuable nutrition information in the form of attributes for a variety of items in grocery aisles.?Coburn’s is proud of its Registered Dietitian Team and the work it does with guests and within the community.
