JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Previous experience relating to quantity food production (including determining amount of food to be ordered and prepared, ability to plan to ensure food items are ready for service at meal time, etc.)

2. Training in food sanitation to assure food served is safe.

3. Ability to effectively coordinate duties and delegate responsibilities to the dietary staff.

4. Ability to work with Camp Hamwi Food Service Director, Central Ohio Diabetes Association Camp Hamwi Registered Dietitian, and Camp Hamwi Head Dietitians.

RESPONSIBLE TO

1. Camp Hamwi Food Service Director

2. Central Ohio Diabetes Association Diabetes Nutrition Educator/Camp Hamwi Registered Dietitian

3. Central Ohio Diabetes Association Camp Director

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Insure that proper health and safety standards are maintained in the preparation, service, and storage of all food items.

2. Work with the Food Service Director (FSD) in coordinating dietary staff in preparation and service of meals and snacks according to menus, recipes, and camp schedule provided by Camp Hamwi Registered Dietitian

3. Head Cook

4. Together with Camp Food Service Director assist in keeping inventory to ensure proper amount of food is on-hand to prepare menu items.

5. Keep track of amount of food prepared and leftover – provide this information to the FSD for food ordering.

6. Assist with other duties as assigned.

7. Complete written and/or verbal evaluation of camp dietary program from your perspective.
