NORTHWEST CAROUSEL ADVENTURE
You are invited to attend the 35th annual convention of the National Carousel Association headquartered at the Holiday Inn Select at 1 Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057 (Seattle suburb). Your itinerary will also include an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown/Convention Center, Portland, Oregon on Thursday September 13th. This will be the second NCA convention in the Northwest but our itinerary will be quite different from the 1995 convention. We will see 7 carousels, a very large museum collection and the Mt St Helens visitor center.

We will also go to the Mt St Helens - Johnston Ridge Observatory center for an amazing encounter with nature.
~We will be visiting 2 incredible zoos with time to visit an African savannah, a tropical rainforest, as well as polar bears, beluga whales and walruses.
~Friday night’s dinner will be a BBQ at the Cleveland Park Rodeo grounds prepared by the ladies of Bickleton, Washington.
~We will enjoy a concert on the famous Wurlitzer pipe organ at the Oaks Park Skating Rink
~A trip to the Perron Family “barn” to see the amazing collection that will soon be back in the International Museum of Carousel Art at it’s new location in Dee, Oregon.
Wednesday night dinner will include guest speakers and a panel discussion. The Roundabout Faire will be set up Wednesday night prior and after dinner and Saturday night prior to our banquet.
Be sure to visit the NCA website at nca- for more information and updates. Everyone is encouraged to bring carousel items for the bus raffles and the Saturday night auction.
Registration Fee
$340 for NCA members and $340 + $47 (one per household) for non-members. Plus the $112 for the hotel in Portland
For example - Two people sharing a room in Portland will be $340 x 2 plus $112 for a total of $792
{$670 +$112 for a total of $782 before July 4th} (non-members add $47per household)
Registrations includes – Admissions to all attractions, 3 dinners, 3 lunches, 4 breakfasts, many snack and drinks and transportation (1 dinner on your own at Jensen Beach Mall)

The convention rate will be extended 3 days prior and 3 days after the convention. Ask for NCA convention rate of $89 plus tax. Must register with hotel by August 15th for convention rate.
Convention hotel has 2 free airport shuttles, so bring local phone number with you. (4.5 miles away) 2 shopping areas are within walking distance (2 blocks) including a large grocery store, Rite-Aid pharmacy and restaurant. There is a Wal-Mart 4 blocks away and Southcenter Mall is about 2 miles (if shuttle is available, will drive guests to mall)

Lunch at local top-notch seafood restaurant on your own

The Future of Flight & Boeing Tour are located at 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo, WA 98275, approximately 30 miles north of Seattle via Interstate-5.

Departs 9 am returns 2:30 pm includes stop at Pikes Place Market, Seattle Center, home of Space Needle (extra charge to ride up but worth it) and Seattle sight seeing highlights

Round-about Faire
The Roundabout Faire will be set up in the banquet room for Wednesday evening before and after dinner and Saturday early evening prior to Banquet. The Faire can be set up Wednesday afternoon for every one to visit as they arrive for registration. For more information please contact Linda or Tom Allen.

You will need transportation as these are in Seattle (10 miles, approx 27 minutes) and on Bainbridge Island (25 miles, approx 1hr 20 minutes, shorter from Seattle) Bainbridge Island requires a ferry ride, from Seattle. Carpools possible. Maps and directions will be available.
