September Review

Healthcare Facilities Week

Wow! What a great month of September we had around here. We had a great Labor Day cookout to start the month out with yumminess. Then we had some great music with Rod and Laura.

National Assisted Living Week was jam packed with the theme of "A Spark of Creativity." We really did put our creativity out there by designing our own "crazy socks" and "crazy hats." We made a trip to the TN Valley Fair celebrating its 100th year and enjoyed the fair surroundings (from memories past.) We remembered our 9-11 victims with a special prayer lift which was moving. We never want to forget how this day changed our country and our lives. We received some hand and chair massages to relax us and give us that extra "spark" even though some got so relaxed they decided to take a nap. Now that's some peacefulness there! Our sugar scrub left with smoother than ever hands also. We ended up the week with orange & white day and more importantly with the Vols taking the win over UTC. The Dietary team outdid themselves with a special omelet station for breakfast on Sunday morning and a pasta station for lunch on Saturday. Yum Yum! Whew! That's just in one week and that doesn't even count our other daily activities. I don't know how we found time to sleep except during the massages.

Healthcare Facilities Week is celebrated October 20-26. We want to give our Maintenance Director, Larry Davenport, and his team of Betty, Jean, and Daj an extra special thank you for ALL they do for us around our home.

Whether it's cleaning a room, cleaning the floors, cleaning up spills, vacuuming, fixing washers and dryers, repairing toilets, the list goes on and on for the team.

Thank you to our wonderful team for always keeping us looking clean and pretty and even smelling fresh. Give them an "extra" thank you for ALL they do for us. We appreciate each of you!!

Pastoral Care Week

We enjoyed some lunch outings and more entertainment from JJ & Friends and we also made "Pedal For Alzheimer's" notes to the team making the bicycle trip from Knoxville, TN to Daytona Beach, FL for the annual 1,098 mile journey to bring awareness to Alzheimer's and raise money to continue to put an END to this disease.

HALLOWEEN FUN FAMILY BINGO NIGHT!!!

On October 11th from 6:00 ? 7:30 p.m. in the dining room we will have another great Family Fun Bingo Night with a Halloween theme. Please invite your family and friends to join us for a fun filled night of B-I-N-G-O!!!!

October 20-26 is Pastoral Care Week. We want to extend an "extra special" thank you to Chaplain David, our devotion volunteers, volunteer ministers, Sunday School teachers, choir leader and pianist that we have on devotion days and chapel nights and Sundays for their dedication to our Lord and to us.

We are truly blessed beyond measure with the spiritual blessings we have at Trinity Hills so please show your appreciation with an "extra" word of thanks to all those involved.

What's Candy Corn?

Healthcare Foodservice Week

We've seen it all our lives. We've eaten it all our lives. We've eaten color by color as it appears on the corn. Some eat it from the top down or some eat it from the bottom up. What's the top? What's the bottom? Why is it so popular during the fall time? Does candy corn have any other purpose in life? I think it'll be interesting to find out. So keep your eyes and ears open about candy corn.

WE "WILL" REMAIN LOYAL!!!

So every week is a BIG week when we're talking UT football!!! We did it up big against the Gators around here and we totally drowned them at Trinity Hills with a win of 1/6 of a cup. WOW! So the Georgia Bulldogs think that because they are ranked so highly and that the Alabama Crimson Tide think they can never lose.......well that just gives us more incentive around here to strut our stuff. So come on out and see what OUR Georgia (intern) plans on doing with those Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide. I feel like some dawgs are going to be really barking and the tide is going to be washed away!

Halloween Party

October 31st is Halloween around Trinity Hills. We are just going to do it OUR WAY! That means at 2:00 p.m. we're going to have our own Halloween Party dressing up or down or crazy around all day. You can mix it up and be gaudy. You can do crazy socks and crazy hats and crazy clothes. You can do it so you won't be recognized. It's up to you!

Where would we be at breakfast, lunch, and dinner without our Dietary team? I guess we'd just be sitting around looking at each other. Healthcare Foodservice Week is October 6-12. We cannot imagine the preparation and work that goes into each of the three meals we have each day. We have various dietary needs within our community and we all have our likes and dislikes of food. However, we have so many choices that will accommodate each of us. Not only does our Dietary team of Naomi, Charlie, Kathy, Justin, and Karl prepare our daily meals; but they are involved with every single special event that we have plus outside marketing events within our community as well. They are involved with staff meetings and special lunches and the list goes on and on.

It is so difficult to please everyone all the time; but our Dietary team certainly does their very best for us each and every day.

Show your appreciation and say THANK YOU!!

Voting at Trinity Hills

On Tuesday, October 29, at 11:00 a.m. the Knox County Election Commission will be here again for us to exercise our freedom to vote. We will be voting for the City General Election at this time. This will include the narrowed list for mayor as well as city council members.

You will not need to bring anything with you to vote. However, the Election Commission will need to speak with each resident. Please come by the Activity Room and let us know whether you are choosing to vote or not so we can be as efficient as possible for the Election Commission team on this date.

The "Pedal for Alzheimer's" cyclist team and their many volunteers headed out from Knoxville from the Pat Summitt statue to 1,098 miles around and down to Daytona Beach, Florida this year. The cyclists left on Sunday, September 29, and they will complete their 1,098 mile trip on October 10th. The money raised is presented to the Pat Summitt Foundation to enhance the efforts of ending the dreadful disease of Alzheimer's. We made some "encouraging" notes for the team which was started by Josh Crisp three years ago as "Pedal for Pat."

Director's Corner with Molly

It's that time of the year again! The Bingo Bee will be hosting yet another FUN filled family and friends BINGO night here at Trinity Hills. We hope you will all join us for another 10 rounds of bingo where you will have the chance to win fabulous prizes! We will be partying Halloween style so feel free to wear your best or craziest costume on Friday, October 11th.

On another note, I wanted to remind everyone of our FRIENDS & FAMILY referral BONUS! Do you know someone who would love to live at Trinity Hills? What about someone who you think could benefit from being here or maybe someone who visits here? Let us know! If they move in, YOU get a bonus! **The new resident must reside at our community for at least 30 days for you to qualify. You must notify Caroline or Molly of the referral prior to the resident moving in.

We are all excited about the fun things happening in October and reflecting back on September that was an exciting month too! Hats off to Caroline, Larry, Rachel, and Anthony for unloading and getting ALL of our new chairs set up in the community! They are beautiful and so comfortable! Stay tuned for more exciting updates to the community in the coming weeks. Happy Fall Y'all ? see you in October!

October Birthdays

We want to wish our October "fall" birthday residents a very Happy Birthday. We will be having our monthly birthday celebration on Thursday, October 31st, at 2:00 p.m. Remember that EVERYONE is invited to attend and celebrate together. Thank you to Amedisys Home Health for sponsoring our monthly birthday celebration cakes.

Fall Leaf Rides

It's that beautiful time of the year in East Tennessee when we get to enjoy another one of God's blessings with the turning of the leaves to all the vibrant colors of orange, red, green, and yellow and even brown. We will be having two leaf rides with lunch outings to enjoy the change of colors. We never quite know when the best time is to take our trip so we just estimate it the best we can from the weather and what we read. Please sign up on the bar area for only one of the trips and have your money for lunch and some light shopping. We have Friday, October 25th, at 9:45 a.m. and Wednesday, October 30, at 9:45 a.m. available for you to choose a fun trip.
