Hello, neighbor!

A Horse of a Different Color

By Deborah Wenner

Ihave always been a big fan and lover of all animals. Going to the fair was the highlight of my summer. I worked with my mother in our garden to grow our food that we canned for the winter and sold what was left out front of our house. This money I earned was what I could spend at the fair. I had trained and rode in the horse and pony shows all summer and as a member of 4-H took my horse to the fair to camp out with all of my friends. Kids from all the different clubs looked forward to this each year.

Today when I go to the fair all the memories fill me and bring me back to those days. The animals are my favorite in so many ways. Growing up we had a very large farm and just about any animal you could imagine. I always had a connection and felt most happy while taking care of my herd. The animals bring so much more to our lives than most people realize. They share joy, happiness, love and bring a peace and calm to our lives.

If you watch and listen on a different level, the very animals that come and go in your life have a unique message for you. These are referred to as Spirit Animals and they are always with you in your time of need. You will see this animal over and over or hear them at an unusual time or place. For an example, I was visiting my friend who is also a therapy healer and we were standing out back in her yard when a vulture, or buzzard circled and circled very low. We watched and looked at each other and back up and it was gone! In reading the meaning to this animal it was a message of change. Even though you are going through a time of loss, discover the gifts of this experience, clean up the clutter and develop new and creative solutions to problems that you or others would prefer to ignore. This was an instant--OK--I get this, and with a smile I knew what I needed to start doing. One foot at a time - you take a step forward and reward yourself for the great job that you are doing, one step at a time. And to think...I got all that from a buzzard.

While walking around the fair, enjoy the animals on a whole new level. See or hear which animal is watching over you.

Here are a few examples of animals that you may see while you are out and enjoying the Great Geauga County Fair. My best childhood memory and the horse that shared it with me, patiently and lovingly for many years, even if they did have fireworks, is in my heart always.

If your spirit animal is a bee, it's time to get organized and get to work on that idea. Commitment, diligence and dedication and you will succeed beyond your wildest expectations.

If a blackbird, let go of all inhibitions and sing, without concern for how it sounds or fear of other's disapproval. Sound healing is a good choice for your treatments in physical or emotional ailments.

If yours is a butterfly, lighten up and stop taking things so seriously. Get ready for a big change, removing old habits, way of thinking, even lifestyle change is emerging. Always know that "this too shall pass." Express yourself by wearing more colorful clothing or decorate your home or office.

If a cow is your guide, this is a very nourishing time for you, so be willing to partake of all that is offered to you. You have nothing to worry about, you are well provided for in spite of any fears or doubts. This is a time for mending and healing the relationship with your mother, whether she's alive or has passed into the spirit world.

If a donkey volunteer and give time and energy to a service that fits your belief. Listen to and respect your intuition, take time and proceed cautiously and slowly but keep on moving. Express and honor your inner truth.

Dragonfly - be on the lookout for falsehoods. Tap into deeper emotions. Your passion is awakening so direct it to what feels true and right. This is a time when magic and mystery of your life is reawakening.

If a duck, this can be a time of fertility, either literally or metaphorically. Time to have fun and get a little silly. The time of turmoil has passed, so now you can release emotions that have been suppressed.

A Horse of a Different Color

Continued from Page 4

If a horse is your spirit guide, you are about to embark on an unexpected adventure and will have to move very quickly once it's initiated. It's time to free yourself from physical and emotionally constriction aspects of your life. You need to call upon reserves of stamina and strength to get you through. You are much more powerful that you think you are.

With a llama, it's been a long haul, but you're just about there, so hang in. Take time for yourself, seeks others who share like interests and activities rather than spending too much time alone.

Rabbit - this is a very creative time for you, so quickly take advantage opportunities that comes your way unexpectedly. Be extra aware & if anything threatening shows up, leave as quickly as possible. You will see things in leaps and bounds. Express your love freely to those you're closest to. Find periods of quiet, followed by bursts of activity.
