In addition to the scholarship, the foundation awards transportation grants each year to Michigan K-12 school groups planning a field trip to a Circle Michigan member attraction, restaurant, accommodation or destination. Dr. Leonard Seawood, superintendent of Benton Harbor Area Schools, received a $250 transportation grant to help take fourth-grade students to the Gerald R. Ford Museum in Grand Rapids in September 2013. "For many of these young students, it was a chance of a life time and we greatly appreciate your generosity," said Seawood. "It was so great that I had this opportunity to see and read about Gerald Ford. I learned so much! I learned he was in the Navy to serve his country. Ford was a brilliant athlete because someone like that cannot do all of these sports if he wasn't good at it. The museum brought him back to life so other people can learn about him," said student Amiya H.A fun and profitable day is planned for all at the Circle Michigan Foundation Miniature Golf Tournament on October 6, 2014.
