Carefully read the text and complete the investigation. (2.) Use the text and your observations to help you to answer the questions.Diagram A Diagram BTo move the skeleton, the muscles must be firmly attached to the bones by strong, inelastic tissues called "tendons."The muscles that operate the hand and fingers are located on the forearm. These muscles have long, cordlike tendons attached to the bones in the hand. Flex and extend your hand and fingers and watch these tendons at work.Special note: The muscles and tendons you observe are not the only ones that move your hand and fingers. To complete this investigation—1. Lay your right forearm, hand, and fingers firmly against the lab table with your palm up. 2. Close your hand, making a tight fist. Slowly, with as much tension as possible, flex your wrist by moving your hand upward. Watch the tendons in your wrist pull your hand. 3. With the back of your hand firmly against the lab table, flex your fingers—one at a time—while you watch the tendons in your wrist and the muscles in your forearm. (Remember to do this with as much tension as possible.)Level One Questions:While flexing your hand, were you able to see the four tendons illustrated in Diagram B? (Flex your hand again if you are not sure.)Yes No (Circle one.) While flexing your hand, were you able to see the muscles in your forearm move? (Flex your hand again if you are not sure.)Yes No (Circle one.) The muscles in your forearm and the tendons in your wrist work together. Using the terms flexing and extending, describe what you observed. While flexing your fingers, did you see the tendons in your forearm move? (Flex them again if you need to.) Yes No (Circle one.) While flexing your fingers, did you see the muscles in your forearm move? Yes No (Circle one.) Level Three Questions: Why are the muscles that flex the hand located in the forearm instead of in the hand? Only one of the tendons you observed is responsible for moving the fingers. Which tendon flexes the fingers? LLabel the following on the diagrams below: bicep, tricep, pectoral, elbow, wrist, shoulder, humerus, ulna, radius.Pre-Lab~Chicken Wing Anatomy ................
