NYU ONLINE LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAMS

NYU Online Language Proficiency Exams

Undergraduate students fluent in languages other than English may consider taking an NYU Online Language Proficiency test to earn credit towards their degree. Before testing, students should contact their faculty advisor or the Office of Prior Learning to confirm language credit will be applicable to their major.

Testing Process

Online proficiency exams are conducted throughout the year. You will need the following to complete the test: High speed internet connection, Laptop/computer device with a camera, speakers and a microphone; Modern web browser: FireFox (latest version). Fees NYU charges $529 for the 12-Point exam, plus a $20 registration fee

New York Tech charges $175 per course (2022-23) to award proficiency exam credit

A maximum of nine (9) Proficiency Exam credits may be earned for an NYU Language Proficiency exam. Credit will be awarded based on points scored on the exam. Only credit applicable to a student's undergraduate degree program will be awarded.
