To establish your new HR-specific password, or to change it thereafter:(this will not change your eID/email password)Click the Login Assistance linkA new screen as shown below will open. It contains two options:To set your password, enter your eName in the User Name box and click the Forgot Password buttonTo retrieve your User Name if you don’t know it, enter your CSU email address and click the Forgot User Name buttonNext, for either option you will receive an emailFor OPTION 1 (Forgot Password), the email will have this subject:Open the email, click the “reset your password” link and follow the on-screen instructions (below).CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGEFor OPTION 2 (Forgot User Name), the email will have this subject: Open the email. Your username will be identified like in a message like the one shown below.“The following user account is associated with your email address. You can now login or reset your password. This email can be ignored in case you didn't submit the user name lookup request; the reset password link is only active for a short time.Username: <Your user name here>”Browser and Java RequirementsEnable TLS 1.2TLS 1.2 is a security protocol that must be enabled to be able to access the upgraded HR system. It must be enabled for both Java client and browser software. Recent versions will likely have TLS 1.2 enabled by default. If HR fails to start however, TLS settings should be reviewed.Enabling TLS 1.2 for JavaOpen Java from the Windows Control PanelClick the Advanced tab Scroll down to the Advanced Security Settings sectionCheck the Use TLS 1.2 box if it is not already checkedClick OK and close the Java Control PanelEnabling TLS 1.2 for Internet ExplorerFrom the menu bar, click Tools (Alt-T) > Internet Options > Advanced tabScroll down to Security category, manually check the option box for Use TLS 1.2Click OKClose your browser and restart Internet ExplorerCONTINUED ON NEXT PAGEEnabling TLS 1.2 for Mozilla FirefoxOpen FirefoxIn the address bar, type about:config and press EnterIn the Search field, enter tls. Find and double-click the entry for security.tls.version.maxSet the integer value to 3 to enable TLS 1.2 (this is the default on versions 27 and greater)Click OKClose your browser and restart Mozilla FirefoxEnabling TLS 1.2 for Google ChromeThere are no options for enabling SSL protocols. If you are using Chrome version 30 or greater, TLS 1.2 is automatically enabled.Enabling TLS 1.2 for OperaThere are no options for enabling SSL protocols. If you are using Opera version 17 or greater, TLS 1.2 is automatically enabled.Enabling TLS 1.2 for Apple SafariThere are no options for enabling SSL protocols. If you are using Safari version 7 or greater, TLS 1.2 is automatically enabled.CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGEInternet Explorer Compatibility View SettingsThe upgraded HR system has fixed an issue that required some Internet Explorer users to add “*.colostate.edu” or a similar address to their Compatibility View Settings. If so, in the upgraded system a gray screen with a spinning icon may appear when you try to login:If this happens, go to Tools (Alt-T) > Compatibility View Settings and remove any websites in the list. Also uncheck the “Display intranet sites in Compatibility View” checkbox, so that the settings resemble the following:CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGEInternet Explorer Trusted Site SettingsTo configure IE so it will execute properly for HR, “*.colostate.edu” must be entered as a trusted website. If it has not been entered, various Java warning and errors messages appear and the HR screen never runs.From the menu bar, click Tools (Alt-T) > Internet Options > Security tabIn the “Select a zone …” area, click the icon labeled “Trusted sites,” the click the “Sites” buttonCONTINUED ON NEXT PAGEThe “Trusted sites” window shown below then pops up.Enter “*.colostate.edu” under “Add this website to the zone” and then click AddThe “Require server verification …” checkbox should not be checked.
