Password Entry and Changes

Review minimum requirements that must be met for all users of MetroSoft.

1. User ID is the same as your email address name.

2. Password must be changed the 1st time you log into the production database.

3. Password cannot match the User ID.

4. Password must be a minimum of 8 characters in length.

5. Password must contain at least one numeric character.

6. Password will automatically expire every 30 days.

7. User will be warned of upcoming expiration for 3 days prior to expiration date.

8. Passwords may never be reused.

IMPORTANT Information:

After your 3rd attempt of trying to sign into MetroSoft if you are unsuccessful your account will be locked and you must request a new password. To request your password to be reset call 9-1133.

But, if you have set up a ‘Forgot My Password’ help feature you will be able to use it in place of requesting a new password.

Forgotten Password - Change or Set Up

If you have forgotten your password or keep receiving the message that your user id and/or password are invalid you are able to have a new temporary password emailed to you. This feature is available only if you had previously established the forgotten password help question and answer.

To establish the forgotten password help question and answer:

1. Navigate to:

2. Click the ‘forgotten password help’ link.

3. Using the search magnifier, choose the question you would like to use

or

Create your own question.

4. Enter the response for that question. NOTE: The system will convert your response into ALL caps.

5. Click OK.

This completes the setup for your forgotten password help feature.

If during login to MetroSoft you receive the message that your user ID and/or password are invalid click the ‘I Forgot My Password’ link.

1. Enter your user id and click the ‘continue’ button.

2. Complete all fields.

Note: Your help response must be in all CAPS.

3. Click the ‘continue’ button.

You will receive a system message regarding your new password.

4. Click the Return to Login link.

Within a few minutes you will receive an email notice with your new temporary password assignment

5. Sign in to MetroSoft using the temporary password assigned.

MetroSoft will open with the requirement to change your (temporary) password.

6. Clicking the link will immediately take you into the General Profile page where you will change the temporary password assigned to a permanent password of your choosing.

Note: The new password must meet the requirements defined in ‘Password Entry and Changes’ section of this document.
