1. Go to TMO and get USFJ form 380 EJ (Customs form).

*NOTE* If you previously had your vehicle registered in Japan, you also need the Japanese deregistered title for shipping. If you don’t have it you’ll need to get a duplicate from LTO.

Pick up imported vehicle application documents at the JSVRO

2. Fill out imported vehicle application documents.

3. Go to LTO (window 5) with translator between 1600 - 1700 and apply (don’t need vehicle).

4. When Translator contacts you and to pick up approved documents, buy JCI and PDI (American) insurance, then come to JSVRO with copy of 380 EJ, and JCI policy, then fill out application for Temporary License Plates/Registration.

5. Come back next duty day at no earlier than 0900, pick up temp plates and completed import documents at GOJ inspector’s office (JSVRO) 0930-1130 or 1230-1530

6. Proceed to JSVRO to complete registration paperwork

7. Go through inspection line and GOJ final inspector

8. Go back to JSVRO main office and Pay weight tax.

9. Go back to LTO and pay ¥1,880 for plates; road tax fee will be prorated for the year.

10. Return to JSVRO and go to Lane 1 to receive your DD FM 430 and road tax decal.
