FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES, 2018

Downtown is home to 10 of the 21 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Houston. Two Houston companies joined the Fortune 500 this year, one of which is headquartered Downtown ? Cheniere Energy. The Houston metro area ranks fourth in the country behind New York (74), Chicago (35) and Dallas-Ft. Worth (22). In total, Downtown is home to 63 companies on the 2018 Fortune 500 List.

Seventy percent of downtown companies climbed in ranks from 2017 to 2018: Enterprise Products Partners moved from #122 ($27 billion) to #105 ($29.2 billion); Plains GP Holdings, LP moved from #141 ($23.2 billion) to #115 ($26.2 billion); EOG Resources moved from #356 ($8.8 billion) to #270 ($11.2billion); Targa Resources moved from #402 ($6.7 billion) to #307 ($8.8 billion); CenterPoint Energy moved from #362 ($7.4 billion) to #308 ($9.6 billion); Calpine moved from #400 ($6.5 billion) to #33 6 ($8.8 billion); and Cheniere moved onto the list to #489 ($5.6 billion).
