Millions of viewers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area have tuned to FOX4's Clarice Tinsley for the latest headlines and the most in-depth news stories affecting Texas and the world.

With major investigative reporting awards to her credit, including the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award, Clarice is uncompromising in her commitment to inform the North Texas community thoroughly and credibly.

Recognized as one of Texas' more knowledgeable reporters, Clarice is on the air and has been on the scene as important news stories unfold.

• In November during it's 28th annual awards luncheon, Clarice received the 2009 Dallas Historical Society Award of Excellence for Outstanding Contributions in the Creative Arts.

• The same month she was awarded the Mary McLeod Bethune Award from the National Council of Negro Women.

• Clarice flew to Berlin to cover the fall of the Berlin Wall and the impact on North Texas defense contractors.

• She was in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm to cover the role of Texas troops.

• Clarice reported from the eye of Hurricane Alicia when it roared through Houston.

• She reported from the Johnson Space Center in Houston for four days when the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded killing the 7 Astronauts on board.

• When the Space Shuttle Columbia exploded in the sky over North Texas killing the Astronauts Clarice was part of the team on the air with wall to wall coverage.

• September 11, 2001 was supposed to have been the first night of the Dallas FBI Citizens' Academy Class for Clarice and her classmates.  That tragic morning had Clarice and the FOX4 news team on the air with marathon coverage. That day changed the mission of the FBI. In March 2003 the Citizens' Academy Class started. Clarice turned out dozens of exclusive stories on what the Class was learning from Special Agents at Dallas FBI.

• In 2003 Clarice had the rare assignment of going to Quantico, Virginia to report on the intense training at the Bureau's proving ground for the men and women who want to be FBI Special Agents.

• Also in 2003 she took a once in a life-time flight and reported on the experience. Clarice flew with the the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and pulled 6.3 G's. She didn't pass out, didn't get sick and didn't throw up and loved every single second!

• In 1995 she established the weekly franchise that salutes volunteers in North Texas; Clarice's Hometown Heroes. 

In addition to the George Foster Peabody Award, Clarice has earned an a DuPont-Columbia Citation, an Emmy, three Dallas Press Club Katie Awards, two Awards of Excellence from American Women in Radio and Television, Best Investigative Reporting from Texas Associated Press, the Texas Headliner Award for Investigative Reporting, the Journalistic Award for Excellence from the American College of Emergency Physicians and First Place from the Texas Public Health Association.

Her civic awards include being named a Lifetime Girl Scout. She's received the Dallas County Historical Society Award of Excellence for Community Service. Clarice has the Women That Soar Media Award and from Girls Inc. She Knows Where She's Going Award. She has the Bank of America Local Hero Award as well as the A. Maceo Smith Award for Education from the African-American Museum in Dallas; the Lifetime Motherhood Achievement Award from Dallas Can! and the Real Girl Real Women Award from the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. Clarice was Honorary Chair of the 2008 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Clarice is a member of the Board of Directors of Girls Scouts of Northeast Texas. She's an Advisory Board Member of St. Philip's School in South Dallas as well as an Advisory Board member for the School of Journalism at SMU. Clarice is also a member of the Super Bowl XLV Host Committee's Board of Directors and she is Chair of the Super Bowl XLV Communications Action Team.

On November 13, 2009 Clarice celebrated 31 years as Anchor/Reporter at KDFW FOX4 News. You'll see her each weeknight at 5pm and 10pm with Baron James, Dan Henry and Mike Doocy.   

Clarice shares her life with the love of her life, her husband, Stephen Giles. He is Executive Producer/Strategist, ALN, with the cable network American Life Network. Clarice enjoys working out, reading, collecting art, traveling, dancing and singing with the Sanctuary Choir. She adores being a pet parent to their Fabulous Feline, Serenity. Clarice paints works of art in the medium of acrylic on canvas. Spending time with family and friends is a joy.
