1. Investigate which fractions have decimal equivalents that terminate. Categorize fractions into those whose decimal representations terminate and those that don’t.

➢ At the end of this investigation, you should be able to tell if a certain fraction (converted to its equivalent decimal form) will terminate or not.

➢ Explore the ninths. Use the pattern to predict 9/9. Explore the thirds. Use the pattern to predict 3/3.

4. Investigate how to tell the maximum length of the repeating part of the decimal. (Hint: Do the division by hand and NOT with a calculator)
