SUBJECT: Anonymous Fraud Hotline

As the County Superintendent, I strongly believe that our core beliefs are not simply words written or expressed in our mission statement. They are something that we all must live by each and every day, while striving to make them a cornerstone of our organizational culture.

By ensuring that we make every effort to incorporate values such as honesty, integrity, respect and cooperation into our culture, we also meet high ethical standards that make each of us proud to be associated with our organization and recognized as a beacon of ethical behavior in the educational community.

I also believe that nothing is more important to the long-term success of our organization than the well- being of our employees. As county superintendent, bear the responsibility of providing a work environment where employees feel safe and can report unethical or improper behavior in complete confidence.

With this in mind, we have continued our contract with Lighthouse Services, Inc., to provide an anonymous ethics and compliance hotline for all County Schools employees. The purpose of the service is to ensure that any employee wishing to submit a report anonymously can do so without the fear of retaliation.

Employees are encouraged to use the hotline service in cases where their anonymity is desired. Please follow the organization's standard policies and practices for all reports or issues not requiring anonymity.

Reports may cover -- but are not limited to the following topics:

? Bribery and Kickbacks ? Ethical Violations ? Falsification of Contract, Reports or Records ? Theft and Embezzlement ? Violation of the Law

Please note that the information provided by you may be the basis of an internal and/or external investigation into the issue you are reporting and your anonymity will be protected to the extent possible under the law. However, your identity may be required during the course of the investigation because of the information you have provided.

Lighthouse Services' toll free number and other methods of reporting are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for use by employees and staff.
