Dear Maryland 4-H All Stars,

It is that time of year when last summers heat does not seem so bad in our memory. Are we ready for spring? What a winter we have had.

This is a very important time of year! By the time this reaches you scouting reports will be completed and nominations for new All Stars will be in.

Semi-annual Conference will be held on April 18th in the southern district. Registration is included and was previously emailed to all county chairs. All Star nominations will be voted on at this time. A registration form is included in this issue of the Trail.

We are still in need of a District Representative for the Lower Shore (Somerset, Wicomico, & Worcester). District representatives keep in contact with the counties in their area and serve on the Executive Committee of All Stars. If you are interested, please contact me. If your County Chair position changes, please let me know who the new chair is, their address, phone number, and email address.

Annual Conference will be held at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, MD on Saturday, June 27th. This is a very special time when we induct new candidates into the Maryland Chapter of 4-H All Stars. Mark your calendar for this special day. Registration for this event is included.

Interstate All Star Conference will be held in Roanoke, VA July 30th thru August 2nd. More information is included in the Trail.

Last year's 50/50 raffle, which was drawn during the 4-H Gala back in January was won by our own Martin Hamilton. We will be changing this year's raffle to have 4 winners instead of just one. Tickets may be available by Semi-Annual Conference.

If an All Star in your county passes away, please email me or mail me with the full name, including the maiden name if applicable, date of death, and the date they were taken into All Stars. My e-mail address is Jason.watt@md.
