Course Description:

This course provided the scientific background of Lingraphica Speech Generating Devices, the clinical methodologies behind the design of our therapy platform, and a demonstration on identifying the appropriate tools for functional communication and therapy for clients.

Learning Outcomes:

By completing this course, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the scientific background of Lingraphica Speech-Generating Devices, online therapy, and apps. 2. Identify unique, research-based design elements of icons and icon behaviors to meet the needs of the

neurologicallyimpaired.

3. Perform the basic operations as well as advanced techniques of a Lingraphica Speech Generating Device that

are used in working clinically with persons with aphasia and other communication disorders.

4. Demonstrate how communication and support materials supplied with a Lingraphica Speech Generating

Devices are used to help formulate intervention plans, implementation strategies, and associated rehabilitation goals.

5. Use Lingraphica apps functionally for communication, therapy and assessment. 6. Describe the process by which speech-language pathologists can arrange no-risk home trials of a Lingraphica

Speech Generating Device for adults with aphasia and other communication disorders who are candidates for acquisition of a device are potentially.

7. Use therapy platform to create a tailored plan of care based upon clients' individual needs and monitor their

progress.

Processing:

Online course completions are reported to ASHA quarterly. Please allow eight to ten weeks for processing. Lingraphica will issue a certificate of participation to each SLP who completes a CEU course.
