Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activity - Students get 2 turns to throw the “javelin” for distance. There will be a measuring tape on the ground, running the length of the throwing area. One student can throw on each side of the tape. Have students waiting for a turn stay behind waiting line so throwers can run a few steps. Tell the thrower their score from the tape measure. Have the students retrieve the javelins, just make sure they are careful and step over the measuring tape so they won’t trip. Also have both throwers retrieve at the same time so no one gets hit by a javelin. Carry Javelin back to the starting area, don’t throw it back.

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring the equipment from your station into the

Gym, including the measuring tape (be careful winding it up), stake, & cones.

KINDERGARTEN GAME DIRECTIONS - BUBBLES

[pic]

Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activity - Allow students 3-5 minutes to play at the bubbles (that’s if someone is waiting for a turn). There will be 5-7 pans filled with bubble solution and several homemade bubble wands in each pan. There might also be smaller types of bubble wands with individual bubble holders. Make sure students lift the wand up S-L-O-W-L-Y!!!! AND GENTLY AND SLOWLY WAVE THE WAND. They will get more and bigger bubbles and it will be safer for all. DON’T let students fling the bubble wand as it is soap and will burn if it gets in anyone’s eyes. If a student is having a problem making bubbles, demonstrate or even hold their hand and show them how to lift the wand and wave it slowly. I will leave a beach towel so students can wipe their hands when done. If students are not playing at the bubble station, the volunteers can make bubbles and this usually gets students to come and play.

.

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring the equipment from your station into the

gym. Please pour the bubble solution back into the bubble jugs and bring

everything back into the gym (pans; wands; bubble jugs & towels).

o Wear sunscreen and comfortable clothing and footwear.

o Please do not bring any one else with you if you are volunteering at a station.

o Return the laminated directions to school (place on stage or with your equipment)

KINDERGARTEN GAME DIRECTIONS – Toss Games

[pic] [pic]

Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activity - Students get a chance to toss balls and braided rings at each target. After taking their turn and throwing the balls or rings, the student should retrieve them and put them back at the throwing line. For the skee ball / basketball throw (pictured on the right), students get 3-4 balls to shoot a basket or try to throw or roll them into the holes. If the ball goes into one of the holes, it should travel down the tunnel and come out the bottom. Sometimes the ball gets stuck in the tunnel, you just stick your hand inside one of the holes, pinch the netting and pull the tunnel up to make the balls roll down. After the student shoots their balls, they should get the balls ready for the next person. Ring toss and bean bag toss can be played by a single student or against another student. These 2 games will be near each other. Most students will know how to play – just step in and help out as needed.

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring the equipment from your station into the

gym. Wear sunscreen and comfortable clothing and footwear.

o Please do not bring any children if you are volunteering at a station.

o Return the laminated directions to school (place on stage or with your equipment)

KINDERGARTEN GAME DIRECTIONS – Obstacle Course

[pic]

Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activity - Students maneuver one at a time through the course (over, under, around and through). If there is a long line, you can start the next person when the student on the course has passed the half way mark. Have students do every part of the course (if they miss something, they should stop and do it). The idea is to go as fast as you can while negotiating all of the obstacles on the course. PLEASE CONTROL THE COURSE - students go one at a time (can start next student when 1st student is past the halfway point).

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring the equipment from your station into the

gym. When removing anything that is staked into the ground, make sure to get

the stakes or pegs that are in the ground too. I left some bags and boxes to

carry equipment back into school.

Kindergarten Station Directions – “GAMES” (Aqua Play Set; Marble Run; Flexi Blocks)

[pic] [pic] [pic]

Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activity -

Aqua Play Sets - Students free play with the boats and the water way. Use your judgement on the number os students playing at each play set at one time. If it is getting too crowded, limit the number of students (4-8) and then limit the time at the station. If people are waiting, after 3-4 minutes have students playing go to a different area. Please make sure students do not splash water on another student, and they treat the equipment in a proper manner. Refill water as needed from the container. If the container of water gets low, refill at nearby hose.

At the end of the morning, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE BLUE AQUA PLAYSETS APART, keep them in one piece and carry them back into the gym.

Marble Runs - There will be multiple marble runs set up on blankets. Usually it works best if each marble run has 2-4 students playing there (each student can have a few marbles). Students place marbles in the top (or somewhere on the course) and watch it roll down. If there is a lot of interest and students are waiting to play, you will have to tell those who have had a turn to go try another station. Since K field day is very brief, do not allow the students to take the marble runs apart to make a new one – this takes too much time. At the end of the field day, you can break down most of the marble runs and put the pieces into the boxes. The blue/red primary colored marble runs should not be taken apart – there are 2. Try to put the marbles in the zip lock bag or Tupperware container.

Flexi Blocks - There will also be a blanket with a can of flexi blocks on it. Students can sit and build. Keep the blocks on the blanket as they are hard to find in the grass.

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring all the equipment from your station into

the gym. After the students leave, empty the water from the aqua sets and bring both sets and the accessories into the gym (put small pieces into plastic bag – please keep the blue “aqua play sets” together in one piece, do not take apart ). Also bring back any blankets, boards…

o Wear sunscreen and comfortable clothing and footwear.

o Please do not bring any one else with you if volunteering at a station.

o Return the laminated directions to school (place on stage or with your equipment)

KINDERGARTEN GAME DIRECTIONS - Nerf Soccer

[pic]

Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activity - 1V1 soccer game. Each student stands on their side of the center line and stays in their half of the playing area. When the soccer ball is in their half, each player tries to shoot the ball and knock over their opponent’s cone. The 1st player to knock over both of their opponents cones wins the game. If the ball or the bungee cord knocks over the cone, the cone stays down. If the player knocks it over with their body, re-set it. If a player’s shoe flies off when shooting the ball, they automatically lose. There is a white painted line next to the nerf soccer game, this is the waiting line – don’t let students wait behind the cones as they might get hit. If a match is taking a long time (no one hitting a cone), and there are students waiting in line, declare it a tie and get the next set of players on the field (allow 2-3 minutes for a match, no longer if there is a long line). Note: if the bungee cord breaks, there is extra elastic and scissors in the box. Just add a new piece of elastic and tie to each end of the cord.

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring the equipment from your station into the

Gym. There is a plastic bag inside one of the 4 cones at each game. Put all

the pieces from each game inside the bag and tie it. Make sure to get the

stakes.

o Wear sunscreen and comfortable clothing and footwear.

o Please do not bring any one else with you if volunteering at a station.

o Return the laminated directions to school (place on stage or with your equipment)

KINDERGARTEN GAME DIRECTIONS – GOLF

[pic]

Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activity - We now have twos “putting greens” with 5 holes (pictured above). Students get to putt 5 different balls, one at a time. Each ball can only be hit once (otherwise students may take a long time to finish and others won’t get a turn). When a ball is hit and doesn’t go into the hole, put it into one of the bowls or containers. Once a student has hit all 5 balls (remember, just 1 hit per ball), put the balls back into the bowl for the next student. There are several wooden putters – the short one for most students, and a longer one for taller students. Remind students not to walk on the “putting green”. Also remind students that putting is a “little tap”. Do not allow any big swings with the putter.

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring the equipment from your station into the

Gym (the balls, the flags and the bowls go into the zip lock bag and then into

the box; and the putter and the “green” fit into the box too).

o Wear sunscreen and comfortable clothing and footwear.

o Please do not bring any one else with you if volunteering at a station.

Hula Hoops, Ribbon Sticks & Spin Jammers

[pic] [pic] [pic]

Sign In - In Lobby there will be a table for you to sign in and get a name tag. Report to

The recess field across the street and find your station.

Time - Report & sign in at the lobby between 12:30 – 12:35. Kindergarten Field day will

start at 12:45

Location – All stations are in the recess field across the street from the school.

Activities - These stations will be near each other. Students have done all of these activities, so you should be able to watch all 3 areas and just step in if necessary (in case there is only 1 volunteer for this station). Make sure the children keep the equipment in its proper area, and put it back when done using it (ribbon sticks in the bucket and hoops over the cone).

Hula hoops can be spun around different body parts (i.e. waist; neck; wrist) or can

be rolled or used like a jump rope. No throwing hoops into the air or using them

like a tug of war rope.

Ribbon sticks may be swung safely around to the music. Each student may have 1

ribbon stick in each hand – no more or they knot together. Never let students

swing a ribbon in anyone’s face. Remind students to put the ribbon stick handle

back into the bucket when finished playing.

SPIN JAMMERS (they look like Frisbees) - Students can spin the disc on their finger and try to do some tricks like tossing and catching the spinning disc on another finger, going under their arm; passing the spinning disc under their leg; or even tossing a spinning disc to a partner. NOTE: SPIN JAMMERS SHOULD NOT BE THROWN LIKE A FRISBEE!!

Reminders – At the end of field day, please bring the equipment from your station into the

Gym (hula hoops; cone; bucket of spin jammers and bucket of ribbon sticks).

o Wear sunscreen and comfortable clothing and footwear.

o Please do not bring any one else with you if volunteering at a station.

o Return the laminated directions to school (place on stage or with your equipment)
