McAfee, Norton 360, Microsoft Security Essentials).Remove McAfee Site Advisor software for Internet Explorer if you have it installed, it will stop Passport from working. Step 1 - Check if you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows VistaClick Start, right-click Computer, then click PropertiesA new window will open, look for System type and make a note of whether it says 32-bit or 64-bit, close the window using the cross (X) in the top right corner.Step 2 - Check you are an administrator on the computerClick on Start then on Control PanelClick on User AccountsCheck the blue box on the right hand side:- if you see Administrator, close the window and go to the next step - if you see the word Standard, click on Change your account type and select Administrator, then log off and back on.Step 3 - Create a shortcut for Internet Explorer (32-bit)NB: Do not user Internet Explorer 64-bit, it will not work with Passport.Click on Start then All ProgramsRight-click on Internet ExplorerIn the menu that appears, click on Send To then Desktop (create shortcut), a shortcut to Internet Explorer will appear on your desktopGo to your desktop, right-click on the Internet Explorer shortcut and then click on RenameType in a new name for the shortcut of 32bit Internet Explorer for Passport (click anywhere on the screen to save the change).Step 4 - Remove any existing Passport software Click on Start then Control PanelDouble click on Programs and FeaturesRemove all versions of Java, Juniper and Citrix – click on the programs in the list, then click on UninstallClose Programs and Features using the red cross (X) in the top right corner.Step 5 - Run the Registery Cleaner Open Internet Explorer from the shortcut icon on your desktopCopy and paste the following URL into the address bar HYPERLINK "" , click on the arrow at the end of the address barA security warning will be displayed, click RunA further warning will be displayed, click Run again, then click Run for a third time when another security warning is displayedClick Allow, then click Yes to run the Citrix CleanerClick Yes to remove the Citrix folder from Program Files on your machine (if prompted)Click OK to exit the Registery cleaner then close all programs and restart your machine.If Registery Cleaner is unsuccessful, you can clean the Citrix client from your C drive.Click Start then click on ComputerDouble click on Local Disk (C:), then double click on Program FilesRight-click on Citrix folder and then click DeleteClick Yes to delete if prompted and then close Program Files.If this doesn’t work you can download Citrix Receiver Clean-Up Utility from (click Download, then save it on your computer by right-clicking on the file, then click Run as Administrator).Step 6 – Internet Explorer settingsOpen Internet Explorer Click on Tools, then select Internet OptionsThe Internet Options window will open, make sure the General tab is selected then click the Delete button under Browsing History Click the Delete files and Delete cookies buttons (to delete Temporary Internet Files and Cookies), click Yes when asked Are you sure you want to deleteClick CloseThe Internet Options window will open, select the Security tab, click on Trusted Sites to select, then click on the Sites buttonThe Trusted sites window will open, copy and paste into the field Add this website to the zone, then click Add The URL will move into the Websites field, click CloseThe Internet Options window will open, make sure you are on the Security tab, click on Internet to select it, then click Custom level The Security Settings window will open, scroll down the Settings field and find and change the following:Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls – set ActiveX Controls & Plugins to EnableRun ActiveX controls & plug-ins – set ActiveX Controls & Plugins to EnableAutomatic prompting for file downloads – set Downloads (or File Downloads) to Enable (not present in some versions)Click OK then YesThe Internet Options window will open, go to the Privacy tab and under Pop-up Blocker click on SettingsThe Pop-up Blocker Settings window will open, copy and paste *..uk into the Address of website to allow field then click AddThe URL will move into the Allowed sites field, click CloseThe Internet Options window will open, go to the Advanced tab and under Settings find the Security section, remove the tick against Do not save encrypted pages to diskClick OK.Step 7 - Download and install JavaOpen Internet ExplorerCopy and paste HYPERLINK "" into the address bar and hit the Enter key on your keyboard, click on Free Java DownloadClick Agree and Start Free DownloadClick on Run then on Continue The Java Setup window will be displayed, click Install If you see options to install the Ask toolbar or similar software, remove the tick from the box then click Next (see screenshot below) Java install will then startA message will be displayed once java has successfully installed, click on CloseYou will be taken to a Verify Java version page, click on Verify Java version (if prompted also enable the Java Addin prompt)A Do you want to run this application message will be displayed, tick Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above, and click RunJava will now be installed.Step 8 - Download and install Citrix Receiver for WindowsOpen Internet ExplorerCopy and paste into the address bar and hit the Enter key on your keyboard, then click Download Receiver for WindowsRead the terms of the Citrix License Agreement, tick I agree to the terms of the Citrix License Agreement, then click ContinueThe File Download window will display, click on Run then ContinueThe Welcome to Citrix Receiver window will be displayed, click InstallOnce Citrix is installed you will see the Citrix Receiver icon in the bottom right corner.Step 9 - Log into Passport (installs Juniper software)Go to Internet Explorer and copy and paste this URL into the address barType in your Hantsnet username, Hantsnet password, Passport PIN and token number and click Sign InNB. If this is the first time you have logged into Passport, see the information on Learn.IT ( – go to Passport > Setting up Passport)Accept/Run/Install Active X control if promptedClick Yes to install Host Checker if prompted Click on the Hantsnet Desktop icon and agree to install Juniper Citrix Services ClientOnce your Hantsnet desktop is loaded you may be prompted by a Citrix Receiver Security warning box. If you are, tick Do not ask me again for this site and then click Permit useYou have now completed the installation process. ................
