Getting Started....What is an eBlast?

An eBlast is something You Write in Word (NOT a PDF) This is your chance to "sell" your race & to work effectively, it should focus mainly on the race attributes, it can also include the cause. There are examples shown on the race Director Tools

1) Writing the eBlast:

Write the eblast and send it to us as an attachment to an email from you. It must be in MS Word ("text only" with no tables, logos, exotic fonts and special effects) OR a single jpeg that is oriented as a 8 ? by 11 inch "portrait" rather than a "landscape" format. Jpegs also cannot be any wider that 800 pixels. DO NOT SEND US A PDF; WE CANNOT INSERT THEM OR ATTACH THINGS TO OUR EBLASTS; nor can we convert them to Word or jpegs if received. You have up to 500 words to "sell" your race. Most races use something that is more like a press release, a few send out a copy of their app instead. (as long as your application is 8 ? by 11 inch "portrait" rather than a "landscape" format. A Word eblast must be "text only" or a single jpeg under 1 MB (NOT a pdf), since we do not have the expertise to "construct" full fledged eblasts with things like graphics, borders, artistic fonts, logos, etc. WE CAN send them if you send such graphics in an eblast saved as a single jpeg. If someone in your organization has used Constant Contact-like services, call or email us. We have a way to allow you to construct a much more elaborate and eye-catching eblast.

If you wish us to send out your Race App as your eblast, We can only send out Race apps that are in a Portrait format, 8 ? by 11 inch rather than a "landscape" format. If there are any graphics in the eblast, we will have to scan it in and Convert them to a jpg. since our system will not cut and paste pdf. In doing so, the clarity of the image will be reduced by 10%

IF YOU DO SEND US CONTENT CONTAINING A GRAPHIC OR LOGO, THE ENTIRE EBLAST MUST BE SENT AS A SINGLE JPEG NO WIDER THAN 800 PIXELS. Hot links may or may not work depending on the recipient's browser. You may use it whenever you wish. Some races even like to send out multiple ones as a campaign. When you do send it to PCS via email, note "date sensitive" in the email subject line if there are dates mentioned in it that occur soon. Failure to use your free eBlast does not alter PCS's fees.

2) Sending the eblast to us:

Send the eblast to us, as an attachment about 6-7 days before you'd like it to go out. It should be sent to rhornpcs@. If there is date sensitive information in the contents...please add Date Sensitive to the subject line.

** PLEASE note that in the subject line of your email to us; (YOUR) RACE TOWN / eBlast CONTENT / (YOUR) RACE NAME
