Public Programme / Event Proposal Form

The Science and Industry Museum is devoted to inspiring our visitors through ideas that change the world, from the Industrial Revolution to today and beyond. It’s a story we’re uniquely well placed to tell – on the site of the oldest surviving passenger railway station, in the heart of the world’s first industrial city, today alive with innovative discoveries in science and technology. We aim to interpret our historic site and stories, and to combine that with a vibrant contemporary science programme, making connections between the past and the present, between scientific theory and real-world applications.

We welcome applications for proposals which support the museum’s aims and that we think will be popular with our audiences. Because our resources are limited, we have to be quite selective about which programmes we undertake and we assess all proposals against our criteria, so everything is viewed in a fair and transparent way.

Therefore, if you think your idea is a good fit with our museum and you can match our criteria below please complete this form.

1. Story – does it fit with our mission, which is to 'to inspire all our visitors, including future scientists, and inventors, with the story of how ideas can change the world, from the Industrial Revolution to today and beyond'?

2. Quality – is your idea inspirational or innovative? Will the content and production be of high quality?

3. Popularity – Will it meet with one or more of our main target audiences? -

Greater Manchester Pre-schoolers, Fun and Learning Families, Curious Young Adults, Older Self Improvers, Education Groups

4. Learning –Will it enhance and improve our visitor experience offer? Will it be engaging, inspiring, memorable?
