Song of Gathering
Everlasting God
Music and Lyrics by Brenton Brown, 2005
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord,
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord (Repeat)
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our strong deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint, You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our strong deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint, You won't grow weary
Welcome and Announcements
Meditation Revelation 15:3-4
Great and amazing are Your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations! Who will not fear,
O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.
Call to Worship Romans 11:33-36
Leader: Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of
God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how
inscrutable His ways! For who has known the mind of the
Lord, or who has been His counselor? Or who has given a
gift to Him that he might be repaid? For from Him and
through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory
forever. Amen. O Magnify the LORD with me!
People: Let us exalt His Name together!
Songs of Praise
Join Every Tongue to Sing & Praise
Words by Joseph Hart, 1712-1768; Music by Robert Turner, 2008
Join, every tongue, to sing and praise
The mercies of our Lord;
The love of Christ, our God and King, let every heart record.
He saved us from the wrath of God,
And paid our ransom with His blood.
Join, every tongue, to sing and praise
The mercies of our Lord;
What wondrous grace was this, was this!
We sinned; and Jesus died:
He wrought our perfect righteousness, and we were justified:
We ran the score to lengths extreme,
And all our debt was charged on Him.
Join, every tongue, to sing and praise
The mercies of our Lord;
Hell was our just desert,
And He that hell endured;
Our guilt broke His guiltless heart with wrath that we incurr'd;
We bruised His body, spilt His blood,
And both became our heavenly food.
Join, every tongue, to sing and praise
The mercies of our Lord;
Repeat verse 1
You Alone Are Holy

Holy are You Lord
Words of Preparation
The psalmist models a transparent faith with these words:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” We express our longing for God’s leading by our own transparent confession.
Confession of Sin
Our Father, forgive us for thinking small thoughts of You
And for ignoring Your immensity and greatness.
Lord Jesus, forgive us when we forget
That You rule the nations and our small lives.
Holy Spirit, we offend You in minimizing Your power
And squandering Your gifts.
We confess that our blindness to Your glory, O triune God,
Has resulted in shallow confession, tepid conviction,
And only mild repentance.
Have mercy upon us.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Song of Confession
Great is Thy Faithfulness
Words by Thomas O. Chisholm, 1923, Music by William M. Runyan, 1923
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
(Chorus)
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
(Chorus)
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
(Chorus)
Words of Assurance Ephesians 1:13-14
In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.
Prayer for Offering
Song of Offering/Thanksgiving
How Sweet and Awful Is the Place
Words by Isaac Watts; Ancient Irish Melody
How sweet and awful is the place
With Christ within the doors,
While everlasting love displays
The choicest of her stores.
While all our hearts and all our songs
Join to admire the feast,
Each of us cry, with thankful tongues,
“Lord, why was I a guest?”
“Why was I made to hear Thy voice,
And enter while there’s room,
When thousands make a wretched choice,
And rather starve than come?”
’Twas the same love that spread the feast
That sweetly drew us in;
Else we had still refused to taste,
And perished in our sin.
Pity the nations, O our God
Constrain the earth to come
Send Thy victorious Word abroad
And bring the strangers home
We long to see Thy churches full
That all the chosen race
May, with one voice and heart and soul,
Sing Thy redeeming grace
Prayer for the Kingdom

The God of His Own Expectations
❖ Big Picture Question:
How is a God who meets His own expectations more worthy of praise than a god that meets your expectations?
❖ Verses 19-24
What argument from creation is Paul addressing?
What right does God claim for Himself?
Why does God do what He does in verse 23?
❖ Verses 25, 26
Again, God reserves the right only to meet His expectations and not anyone else’s. Are you comfortable serving a God like that?
❖ Verses 27-29
Even when we don’t understand God, He is forever merciful. How does God demonstrate His mercy in this passage?
Song of Response
Thy Mercy My God
Words by John Stoker; Music by Sandra McCracken
Thy mercy my God is the theme of my song
The joy of my heart and the boast of my tongue
Thy free grace alone from the first to the last
Hath won my affection and bound my soul fast
Without Thy sweet mercy I could not live here
Sin would reduce me to utter despair
But through Thy free goodness my spirits revived
And He that first made me so keeps me alive
Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart
Which wonders to feel it's own hardness depart
Dissolved by Thy goodness I fall to the ground
And weep for the praise of the mercy I've found
Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own
And the covenant love of Thy crucified Son
All praise to the Spirit whose whisper divine
Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine
Benediction
