The Tender Documents for items will be on two-bid system consisting of Technical Bid and Price Bid. The Tender Documents will be submitted item-wise in two separate sealed covers clearly mentioning on the envelope the details of items for which bid is submitted. Any firm may bid for any number of items but each offer must be item wise in two bid cover enclosing item wise EMD with Technical Bid.

The Tender Document (non-transferable) along with detailed specifications, terms and conditions can be downloaded. It can also be obtained during office hrs (from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM) on all working days (Monday to Saturday) in person from the office of the undersigned.

Last date and time for receipt of Tender Document : 25.07.06 upto 5.00 P.M. The tender should be addressed to the undersigned and should be delivered in person or sent by Registered Post so as to reach the University on/before 25.07.2006 upto 5.00 P.M. No tender will be accepted after the due date and time.

All Tender Documents must be accompanied by the Earnest Money Deposit (Refundable) equivalent to 2% of quoted cost of each item and Rs.1,000/- as tender processing fees (non-refundable) for each item. The Earnest Money Deposit/Tender Processing Fees is to be paid in the form of separate Bank Draft in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University payable at State Bank of India, BHU (Branch Code 0211), Varanasi. The Earnest Money Deposit/Tender Processing Fees Bank Draft must be enclosed with the Technical Bid. The details of Bank Draft Number of Earnest Money Deposit must be endorsed on top of envelope containing Technical Bid.

The Institute/University shall not be responsible for any delay in receiving Bids/by post.

The Institute/University reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, without assigning any reason thereof. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope with EDX+EBSD attachment

Specification :

• Resolution : 2 to 3.5 nm.

(iii) Process Plant Trainer

The Process Plant Trainer should be able to demonstrate a complete range of process control methods and strategies. Manual control, single feedback loops, through to sophisticated cascade loops and distributed supervisory control of the whole process by a remotely located computer should be demonstrated. The system should be a miniature replication of a true production process. The unit should have following features

• multiple inputs, multiple sensors, multiple control strategies

• temperature, level, flow and conductivity controls loops can be implemented

• effects of ‘dead time’

• operational sequencing, including start up to shut down

• recycle implications on process control

• on/off, proportioning, PID, PLC, SCADA

• fault simulation and diagnosis

• includes computer interface (USB) and sophisticated educational and data logging software

(iv) Multifunction Process Control Teaching System

The computer controlled unit should be able to demonstrate a variety of single control loops. It should be quickly reconfigured between processes, such as level control, temperature control, flow control and pressure control. These should have wider range of control loops and strategies, including remote set points, dual loops, fluid property control (using conductivity). Again all these are under software control. The advanced software allows the student to change the control parameters, record results and analyse the results for the different configurations.

(v) Computer – interfaced Distillation Column

Self-contained at least 10 cm diameter sieve plate distillation column unit including feed vessels and pump, reboiler, condenser, reflux separator, product collecting tanks, bottoms product cooler/feed pre-heater, suitable for use with flammable solvents and fully instrumented for both batch and continuous operation. The sieve plate column should be readily interchanged with a packed column supplied as an alternative.

(vi) Spray Drier

The unit should have following features :
