(Numbers 0-50)P.E: dinosaur stomp dance will wake you, and the rest of your household, up!Music/singing: how to sing and sign a collection of nursery rhymes.Letters and sounds: Today, try writing your first name and your surname as often as you can. Use pens, paper, paint, play dough or anything else you fancy!Number Knowledge: Blocks will help you learn your 5 x tables.Reading, Word Aware and PhonicsThere are some great games for phonics and reading: and also the Little Sutton Phonics Online lessons – look for phase 2 or phase 3. (see the guidance letter on the web page) are some great games for phonics and reading: and also :Text of the week: PinocchioReading: Read the story using the Pinocchio PPT PDF or watch it using the link below: you talk about:The main characters.The setting.Your favourite part of the story, and why.Speaking and Listening: Today you are going to retell a very simple version of the story in your own words – you may like to re-read it or watch it again first.Use the shadow stick puppets to help you remember the characters.Challenge: Pretend to be one of the characters. Ask your grown up to ask you lots of questions about what you do and see in the story. Answer as if you are the character.Fact finding/ICT: How do you make a puppet? How will you find out? What materials would you need? What would you do first? If you were going to make a puppet, what would it look like?Draw a set of simple instructions and add labels to explain to someone how you would make a puppet of your own!Writing: Have a look at the Pinocchio word cards. You can print them out or draw some of your own. Pick 5 (Y1 and 2) or 3 (EYFS) cards. Stick them to a piece of paper and write a sentence to tell us something you know about that character or object.Let’s choose ONE!1.Use a large cardboard box to design and make a puppet theatre. Maybe you already have one. You can make your own Pinocchio puppets or you can use the Stick Puppets on the web page.2.Pinocchio is set in Italy. Maybe you can try, or even make, some Italian food this week! Yum!MathsYear 1/ 2: Direction: Look at the Knowledge Organiser so you know what directions we will be covering – you can play a game making turns with your body and walk in different directions. Now have a look at the Direction PPT PDF to test your knowledge! Early Years: Near and far/High and Low: Point to objects that are near, far, high and low. What is the nearest, furthest, highest and lowest? Play Eye Spy with your grown up, stating whether the mystery object is near, high, low or far.Year 1/ 2: Direction: Left and right.Use your hands to check you can remember which is your left and right. Can you follow your grown up’s directions? Now have a look at the Directions In The City Activity Sheet – you can do this on the screen or print it out. Don’t get lost!Early Years: Look at the Length, Height and Distance PPT PDF and pages 1 and 2 of the Length, Height and Distance planning ideas for the questions you can answer. There are other activities to try over the week if you would like to revisit this.Year 1/ 2: Direction: Half and quarter turns. Look at the Quarter and Half turn PPT PDF. (Do not worry about the angles!) Can you follow your grown up’s instructions to move yourself or your toys half and quarter turns? As you move around today, say out loud which sort of turns you are doing. Maybe you can hide some “treasure” for your grown up to find using directions? Early Years: Print out the Superhero Near and Far resources and play the game with your grown up. Challenge: Can you put the superhero near and far objects inside and outside your house throughout the day?Year 1/ 2: Direction and movement. We are going to look at these movements: Forwards/backwards/up/down and round. Can you make your body perform these movements? Have a look at the My House In Motion activity. There are different levels for you to try. Early Years: Obstacle course! Use your garden equipment to set up an obstacle course – you can do it indoors for a soft toy if it is raining. Make sure you or your toy has to travel near, far, high and low. Challenge: introduce left, right and half turns! Year 1/ 2: Direction: How are you doing? Use all, or some, of the Position and Language Assessment – there is a script for your grown up to follow. It is tricky – if you score half marks, that is amazing! Early Years: How are you doing? Use the hide - a - saurus cut outs to position your dinosaur on the background pictures. Use all of the positional language words we have visited over the past fortnight. Other subjectsHistory: Technological ToysTechnological toys use ALGORITHMS to work – these are a set of instructions, but they have to be in the right order to work! Use the Building Bricks PPT PDF to try getting instructions in the right order, then try the Toys Ordering Instructions home learning activity to test yourself and your grown up!Science: Identify/name materialsWatch the Naming Materials PPT/PDF with your grown up. Do you recognise all of the materials? Can you find something from inside or outside your house made of these different materials? Now have a go at the labelling materials activity sheets – there are 3 levels to choose from.Challenge: Make a poster which shows all the different materials you can name. Use illustrations and labels.Design and Technology: Sweet Salad How many fruits can you name? Which is your favourite and why? Use the Drawing Fruit sheet to look at, and describe, your favourite fruit in detail. There is a recipe sheet for a Fabulous Fruit Salad on the web page – you can change the fruits if you like. Make sure your grown up talks you through the Safe Preparation Skills as you go. Enjoy!PSHE: FeelingsHow do you feel today? How do the members of your family feel today? Look at the emoji emotion snap cards on the screen. Can you tell your grown up what each emotion shows?Challenge: print out 2 sets of the cards and play emoji snap – name the emotion each time you get a snap.
