BLACKALLS PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL

6th April 2020

Dear Parents,

This letter probably should start “Dear Parents and Grandparents and Older Siblings and ….”. Thank you to whoever has taken over the role of teacher in your house.

This is the 3rd learning pack that your child has been able to access. As you are probably aware they are available in hard copy from the school office or in printable format from our website. Some of them have lots of pages to print, so just check this before you set your home printer a really big challenge.

The problem with our website has been fixed, so the activities are now in the “Working from home units of work” section. Thank you for your patience with us while we sorted this out.

We are still asking that whoever is supervising the learning in your house mark the work when it is done and give the child some immediate feedback on their performance. This will be the best thing for their learning.

If you have any questions about the work then please give the office a call and we will be happy to get someone to answer your question or solve your problem.

I hope that everyone enjoyed our first “Maths Games Pack” – the one that included a pack of cards and some dice. This week you will get the second games pack which includes some matchsticks. Make sure you keep these extra bits and pieces because they will be needed for future games.

Our school Chaplain, Rochelle Mellows, has prepared a pack of survival tips and strategies. I’ve included a couple of pages here, but the complete pack is on our website if you would like to see that.

Throughout this week our teachers will be continuing to contact each child by phone. If you miss the call then please call us back. The teachers will leave a message so you know who called. If you can let the office staff know who the missed call was from then it does save them lots of time trying to chase several teachers.

Regards,

Merrita Jeffrey

Principal
