1. Given the following points on a Cartesian coordinate grid: O (3, 4) M(8, -3) G(-1, -6)
a. Do these points form a right triangle? Justify your answers. b. What is the name and length of the longest side of the triangle?
2. A beach ball has a volume of 904.238 cubic inches. Find the radius of the sphere to the nearest thousandth. Justify your answers.
3. Write the equation of the line described. Justify your answers.
a. The line passes through (6, -3) and (-5, 11) b. The line is perpendicular to 4x – 7y = 14 and passes through (11, 5)
4. For each linear equation: name the slope and a point on the line. Do not manipulate the equation.
a. y = 4x – 3 b. y – 5 = 11 (x + 2) c. 3x – 4y = 21 d. y = 5 e. x = – 12
5. Find the midpoint between. (–2, 7) and (1, –5). 6. Write the ordered pair whose y-coordinate is 11 and x-coordinate is –4.
