I treat my teacher and friends kindly. Task: Discuss ways you can be kind to your new friends and teachers. Draw a picture of you playing and learning in your class. The book of the day is: Froggy Goes to School letter of the week is: FDramatic Play- Follow a visual recipe, using play or real foodsOutdoor play- Practice wearing a mask outdoors and handwashing when entering your home. Our classroom rules are:Eyes are watching, ears are listening, voices are quiet , bodies are calm, frequent handwashing, and wearing a mask. Craft: Draw a picture of yourself following the class rules while wearing a mask. The book of the day is: Follow The Rules The letter of the week is: FMath- Create an (ABAB) pattern using 2 color buttons. Science- Make different faces in the mirror and identify your emotions. Discuss how you feel when you make each facial expression.Blocks- Build something that makes you happy/ sad/ angry…Discuss why it makes you feel this way.Dramatic Play- Encourage students to pretend to be a teacher who teaches students how to read and write. My family, teachers, and other children make up my classroom community.My teacher helps me and supports me, they teach me how to take turns. Taking turns are important. We can take turns in our centers by moving our pictures from one center to another. When we change centers, we allow our friends a chance to visit the center. Craft: Make your own center chart. Draw rectangles and try writing the center titles. (Use a clothes pin to switch centers) Pretend to ask your teacher to switch centers. Discuss the center chart and how you can take turns being in each center. David Goes to School The letter of the week is: FMath- Make a pattern using stickers. (If you don’t have stickers, draw a shape pattern) A pattern repeats itself over and over. Music- Use a drum to make a rhythm. If you don’t have a drum, make a drum using a pot and spoon. Blocks- Use blocks to build yourself. (If you don’t have blocks, use sheets of paper to build a person/ self. What are your likes and dislikes? Ex. I like to play in the sensory center because I like playing with playdough. Craft: Make a collage by cutting and pasting images out of a magazine (or print pictures) of what you like and dislike.The book of the day is:Teachers Rock The letter of the week is: F Blocks- Use blocks to build our classroom. Ask students what a classroom should have inside.Dramatic Play- Pretend to wash your hands when making pretend food in the kitchen.Water sensory- Pour water into a bin and place cotton balls, pom-poms to the bin. Feel and discuss the different textures and feel of the materials.Math- Create a pattern by cutting different 2 shapes, coloring them different colors and paste it on a sheet of paper.FridayDate:9/18/20 Who are the people in my classroom? My family, teachers, and other children make up my classroom community.In my classroom and in centers I use different supplies (ex. crayons, markers, paint, dot art, pencil, glitter, stickers etc.) to create art. I can make choices of which materials I want to use and where I want to play. When I need something, I ask my teacher for help. Craft: Draw materials and supplies. Discuss the materials you like using when creating art, which materials do you like using? The book of the day is: Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus The letter of the week is: FDramatic Play- Encourage students to look at a menu and discuss its function. Practice ordering something off the menu. Science- Follow the class rules and practice washing your hands, encourage students to sing the alphabet while soaping and scrubbing, rinsing, and drying their hands. Music & Movement- Practice playing an instrument and identifying the name of the instrument.(If you don't have an instrument, you can follow the link to make your own children DIY instruments. )Sensory- Encourage students to use their sensory bin to write their first name.
