1. Draw a picture across the pages of your flip book. This picture should represent the story you read. Think of it as a book jacket you might see on book you have on your shelf at home. It should include the book’s title, author and illustrator as well as your name. (30 points)

2. Under the first flap, draw a picture that illustrates the setting for

the story. If your book has more than one, illustrate the setting that you feel is most important to the story. Then write 3 sentences to describe this setting.

3. Under the second flap, draw the main character and write a three

sentence description of him or her.

4. Under the third flap, draw any other key characters. Describe them by labeling them with character traits such as, honest, helpful, greedy, determined, etc.

5. The 4th-6th flaps should have a picture of an event in the beginning, middle, and end of the story, as well as a three sentence description for each event.

6. Under the last flap, draw a picture of your favorite part of the book and write an explanation as to why you chose that scene.)

Each flap is worth a total of 10 points. Points will be deducted for sloppy work, misspelled words, and improper grammar.

A quality project should be turned in with pride. Your artwork should be neat and colorful. Writing should also be neat or typewritten. It is easy to tell the book reports that have been thoughtfully and carefully done and checked by an adult, but it is even easier to spot those reports that were put off until the last minute and hastily thrown together. Don’t let your report be one of the latter!
