Christmas Ornaments

Print this page on cardstock with a color printer. With scissors, carefully cut out the front and back sides of the ornaments below.

Cut two 4-inch lengths of ribbon to create hangers for your ornaments. After putting your ornaments back pieces picture-side down, tape a loop of ribbon on each ornament back so that the ribbon extends an inch or so above the ornament piece. Rub a glue stick around the edge of the plain sides of the ornament backs. Carefully place the plain side of the ornament fronts over the backs and press to seal.

Hang your ornaments on your Christmas tree, or give them to friends as a holiday gift!

About the Author and Illustrator

Deborah UNderwood grew up in Walla Walla, Washington. "One of my best Christmas moments," she says, "was coming downstairs and seeing the huge teddy bear I'd desperately wanted sitting under the tree waiting for me. Since I was interested in astronomy, I named him Ursa Major. My sister Judith got a smaller version, Ursa Minor. I still say hello to them when I go visit my dad; they've aged very well!" Deborah currently lives in the San Francisco Bay area.

Warsaw, Poland. "When I was very

little I had a pair of training skates,"

she says. "The kind with double blades that were meant to help you learn to

skate but did the opposite. When I got a pair of real skates for Christmas one

year, it was a wonderful surprise! I finally had skates like the ones the figure

skaters on TV wore. I couldn't wait to get started, so I put on my new skates

right away. As you can imagine, it didn't go so well. It takes more than skates

to do all those fancy moves. But that wasn't the problem--I was trying to

figure skate in the living room!" Renata now lives (and skates) in Canada.
