JACK FROST ELEMENTARY NARRATIVE

2012 – 2013

Jack Frost Elementary is a Texas Education Agency Recognized rated campus located in Georgetown,

Texas and serves 362 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten to Third Grade. As a school-wide Title 1

Campus, a variety of programs and services are provided by 44 staff members comprised of 44 females,

8 Hispanic ethnicity, and 36 White ethnicity. In addition to a general education program of 20 class-

rooms, the campus includes five bilingual classes (one at each grade level), special education resource

classes, inclusion classes, content mastery, Title 1 intervention services, dyslexia services, gifted and

talented program, Autism Spectrum Disorder class, Pre-Kindergarten PPCD, Art, Music, Physical Education, and one computer lab with two mobile computer labs.

The campus participates in Response to Instruction with a tiered system and intervention team that

addresses individual students in core academic and discipline areas. Addressing varied student

interests is strong as the campus also provides multiple extracurricular opportunities for students

including the Green Team which supports single stream recycling, Art Club, Choir, Techie Club,

Cooking Club, Running Club, and a Crossfit Club. Frost Elementary is approximately 65% free

and reduced lunch with a wide range of socio-economic family status and parent/guardian education

levels which presents a particular challenge for balancing representation and involvement from all

groups. A recent mobility rate of approximately 14% assists in a relatively stable community which

benefits continued intervention with students and extension of learning opportunities. Attendance

rates average 96% for students. Student ethnic distribution for the campus is 5% African American,
