[18:18] mrgtognola@Meebo: hi

[18:18] lanamt@Meebo: Hey

[18:18] mrgtognola@Meebo: How are you?

[18:18] lanamt@Meebo: Pretty good - busy with conferences. How are you?

[18:18] srfeldman@Meebo: hi

[18:18] lanamt@Meebo: Hi Sarah

[18:18] mrgtognola@Meebo: hi sarah

[18:20] lanamt@Meebo: How did the rest of mla go?

[18:20] srfeldman@Meebo: wow! so much traffic today. too beautiful a day to be stuck in traffic inhaling car fumes!

[18:21] srfeldman@Meebo: the programs were good today. the fundraising program on ma legislation on matching was very informative and the 2 speakers were very approachable and helpful. i have more to add to the draft and a follow up questions for the senator

[18:21] lanamt@Meebo: that's great!

[18:21] lanamt@Meebo: romina - how are your points coming along?

[18:22] mrgtognola@Meebo: pretty good, unfortunately I haven't had much to focus on this project.

[18:22] mrgtognola@Meebo: we had NJLA last week and getting ready for that took up a lot of time

[18:22] srfeldman@Meebo: how did that go romina? any good programs on fundraising?

[18:23] srfeldman@Meebo: and lana i saw a picture of you in the radical reference program with cute librarian slogans

[18:24] lanamt@Meebo: oh that's funny!

[18:25] mrgtognola@Meebo: No, there wasn't much about fundraising

[18:25] lanamt@Meebo: romina - are you happy with the points that you're working on?

[18:26] lanamt@Meebo: it seems like you're taking the wider scope points, so perhaps sarah and I can work with you to make it more manageable

[18:27] lanamt@Meebo: in terms of narrowing the focus of them; would that help?

[18:27] mrgtognola@Meebo: yeah, i'm fine with it. to be honest I know I'm working on the endowment stuff, but I don't think I chose a second topic.

[18:27] mrgtognola@Meebo: No, I think I have a pretty good idea about how to narrow it down.

[18:28] mrgtognola@Meebo: I think I had put down the donation box, but that's the same thing as the wishing well idea--we might want to include that donation boxes, although less sexier/exciting are also an option in that point

[18:28] lanamt@Meebo: that's a good idea

[18:29] lanamt@Meebo: what are you leaning towards as your second point?

[18:29] srfeldman@Meebo: but we're bringing sexy back (jk)

[18:30] mrgtognola@Meebo: ohh, yeah! s

[18:30] mrgtognola@Meebo: let the bun loose!

[18:30] lanamt@Meebo: we can put some lace on the donation box [pic]

[18:31] mrgtognola@Meebo: but of course.....should it be red?

[18:33] srfeldman@Meebo: What do you think of the timeline. I know that putting together a brochure with design and layout can take sometime. once the brochure is laid out it will be easy to convert into a poster.

[18:35] mrgtognola@Meebo: Are we doing a trifold brochure, front and back?

[18:36] mrgtognola@Meebo: I think once we have what we want to say written the layout shouldn't take that long.

[18:37] lanamt@Meebo: since I think I'm doing the brochure, I think it will take a while and we'll need to get it printed, plus this is busy season, so it's hard for me to find time to spend on the project

[18:38] lanamt@Meebo: I'd like to do a trifold, unless we need more room

[18:38] lanamt@Meebo: I like the timeline sarah laid out and think it leaves room for us to review and correct anything that might not be just right

[18:39] mrgtognola@Meebo: well you don't have to do it if you are going to be busy.

[18:40] mrgtognola@Meebo: it doesn't take long at all to get printed. I think the timeline is fine...although, I think we can push doing the poster/brochure later into june.

[18:41] lanamt@Meebo: i'd like to save time for us to review the products though, and since we have different schedules I think it will take more than a week to get it done

[18:45] srfeldman@Meebo: I am eager to get the content of our project out and then play with the rest. When do you think you can get a draft of the endowment list explanation completed romina?

[18:45] mrgtognola@Meebo: in the next week

[18:48] mrgtognola@Meebo: will you be fleshing out the drafts you sent?

[18:49] lanamt@Meebo: I plan to write more, but I would rather see what everyone is up to so we can discuss how to make them more uniform

[18:50] srfeldman@Meebo: editing is not my strongest skill... I made a few edits on the wiki of what I e-mailed you but please make suggestions. I will be adding more to the matching later by Sunday but no more than a paragraph.

[18:52] mrgtognola@Meebo: how do you envision the poster/brochure? I see it as a series of bold points with bullets---just curious

[18:53] mrgtognola@Meebo: I think this will help us flesh out/add more etc..

[18:53] srfeldman@Meebo: i haven't a clue about the brochure.. but i have a vision about our table... a could make a monopoly money tablecloth.

[18:53] lanamt@Meebo: I'm imagining the bold points being the topic with a really short paragraph / description underneath

[18:54] lanamt@Meebo: for the brochure that is

[18:54] mrgtognola@Meebo: I don't think people will take the time to read a paragraph---in either the brochure or the poster.

[18:56] lanamt@Meebo: right, but I think they'd read a sentence or two to expand on the idea

[18:56] lanamt@Meebo: I don't think somethign like "wishing well for your library" doesn't explain the concept enough

[18:57] mrgtognola@Meebo: well no, but you would have the heading and then bullet points expanding on the concept.

[18:58] lanamt@Meebo: I think these are things we can discuss once we've written up our descriptions

[18:58] srfeldman@Meebo: What about 2 posters with 4 list items on each with pictures/graphics and explanation? what i see is that we have an eye-catching display that will engage the audience to ask questions and though they may not read all of it then and there, atleast we have something to point to and they have a detailed brochure to refer to later on.

[18:58] mrgtognola@Meebo: I was thinking it would make it easier to continue working on this and seeing the extent of what has to be written and researched if we had a better idea of what we wanted the product to look like

[19:00] lanamt@Meebo: I think that for now, writing up about 2 or 3 paragraphs for us to read and work with is good

[19:00] mrgtognola@Meebo: I have to go in a few minutes--what are our next steps--

[19:01] mrgtognola@Meebo: should we say that by the next time we talk we have all of the write ups ready and then decide who designs the poster/brochure?

[19:01] srfeldman@Meebo: romina, do you want to expand on the wishing wells with donation box?

[19:01] lanamt@Meebo: yes, I definitely think the write ups need to be ready before we chat again

[19:01] srfeldman@Meebo: i have lots of free time and could do a draft of another item.

[19:01] mrgtognola@Meebo: No, I think it's the same idea different packaging--wishing wells/donation boxes

[19:02] mrgtognola@Meebo: I will pick my second topic from the public funding list---so we continue having a balance--

[19:03] lanamt@Meebo: when can we talk again?

[19:03] mrgtognola@Meebo: So, shall we say that we chat again in two weeks?

[19:03] mrgtognola@Meebo: evenings are best for me

[19:03] srfeldman@Meebo: so sticking to the timeline the explanations will be in their final draft May 11th. lets set a time to talk

[19:03] lanamt@Meebo: can we do another morning chat?

[19:04] srfeldman@Meebo: how about may 15th, tuesday at 6:15?

[19:04] mrgtognola@Meebo: I think we might consider extending that one extra week.....

[19:04] mrgtognola@Meebo: i'm hoping that's pm

[19:04] mrgtognola@Meebo: no can do, that's graduation

[19:05] lanamt@Meebo: can we do thursday may 17th morning or night is fine

[19:05] mrgtognola@Meebo: can we do friday the 18th? same time as today?

[19:06] srfeldman@Meebo: happy pre-grad. that works with me am or pm. but lets get the final draft done by that monday, may 14th.

[19:07] lanamt@Meebo: okay, so draft done on may 14th, we'll all review each others and chat on 18th - can we saw 6 pm?

[19:07] mrgtognola@Meebo: sure

[19:08] mrgtognola@Meebo: Next chat: Friday, May 18th at 6 pm

[19:08] srfeldman@Meebo: 6:15 please. i get kicked out of the library at 6 and wont be home until 6:15

[19:08] srfeldman@Meebo: since i have time and i am pretty much done with my explanations, i will speaking with the wishing well company to see if we can use one doing the conference free of charge, i will begin a template for a mini-poster of us for the poster session which is required.

[19:08] lanamt@Meebo: that sounds great, thanks!

[19:09] srfeldman@Meebo: and lets keep us posted of our progress in the next 2 weeks

[19:09] mrgtognola@Meebo: thanks!
