Configuration Requirements for Run COMPASS application

A. Minimum System Configuration

Browser: IE 6.0, Firefox 2.0. Ensure user can run these browsers and perform most of the internet activities.

Memory: 128 Mb

Free Disk Space for Virtual Memory: 10 Gb

CPU: As long as the user can run the above 2 browsers and perform internet activities, any CPU on the machine will be OK.

Monitor: Any monitor that can support 1024 * 768 resolution.

** Please Note: The COMPASS application is browser based so as long as you can run the browser the application will run. The performance of the application will vary depending upon the processor power and the memory available on the system. Like any other application, the COMPASS application will provide better user interface (Performance) with higher processor, memory, and the free disk space (virtual memory).

C. Browser Settings Required

C1. Allow javascript to run on your browser:

Internet Explorer 6 (IE 6)

a. Click "Tools" --> "Internet Options"

b. Select the Security tab, click on the "Internet" icon (a globe), and click the "Custom Level" button near the bottom of the window.

c. Scroll down to the section on "Scripting" (almost all the way down) and click "Enable" under "Active Scripting"

d. Click "OK", "Yes", and "OK"

a. In Firefox's menu, select Tools > Options.

b. Dialog box: Options

c. Click on “Content” button on the top panel.

d. Check the box labeled “Enable Javascript”

C2. Enable Pop-up

Internet Explorer

To enable popups in Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Popup Blocker and choose Turn off Popup Blocker.
