SHEETROCK® Brand UltraLight Gypsum Panels by United States Gypsum Company (USG). Achieves the following:

1. Meets or exceeds ASTM C-1396 specifications for 1/2" gypsum wallboard and 1/2" gypsum ceiling board.

2. Complies with the requirements of the International Building Code and International Residential Code as both regular wallboard and ceiling board.

D. Lightweight “Non-Type X” Gypsum Board: Material Quality Standard: ASTM C 1396 / C 1396M, Non-Type X, Section 5: UL Design U407 classified as to fire resistance—30-minute and 1-hour fire-rated walls Noncombustible fire resistant gypsum core, with additives to enhance fire resistance and weighting from 1.6 to 1.7 pounds per square foot with paper surfacing on face, back, and long edges; tapered long edges; 5/8 inch thick; 48-inches wide; ends square cut; tapered edges. Product identification: “Non-Type X” will be printed in field of the panel 12 – 15 inches in from edge to identify it. Sheetrock Brand UltraLight Firecode 30 Core Gypsum Panels by United States Gypsum Company (USG).

************************************************************************************************************************

There are two (2) different types of fire rated gypsum cores. Both cores meet the specifications of ASTM C 36 and type X; however, the FIRECODE “C” core is used in several tested assemblies because of its superior ability to resist fire and gravity. To specify these assemblies, it will be necessary to note the “C” core in your specifications. Type “C” Core is normally used in fire-rated ceiling applications. Type “X” Core normally requires 2 layers to achieve a fire-rating in a ceiling assembly.

************************************************************************************************************************

E. Lightweight “Type X” Gypsum Board: Material Quality Standard: ASTM C 1396 / C 1396M, Non-Type X, Section 5: UL classified as to fire resistance. UL designation “Type ULX”. Not for use in beam fire-rated designs. Use in fire-rated ceilings is limited to UL Design No. L559. Noncombustible fire resistant gypsum core, with additives to enhance fire resistance and weighting from 1.9 pounds per square foot with paper surfacing on face, back, and long edges; tapered long edges; 5/8 inch thick; 48-inches wide; ends square cut; tapered edges. Sheetrock Brand UltraLight Firecode X Core Gypsum Panels by United States Gypsum Company (USG).

F. Fire Rated Gypsum Board: ASTM C1396 Section 5 formerly ASTM C36; Type X, fire resistive core, UL rated; 5/8-inch thick; 48-inches wide; ends square cut; tapered edges. SHEETROCK® Brand FIRECODE Gypsum Panels by United States Gypsum Company (USG).

************************************************************************************************************************

Type “C” cores are more fire resistant than type “X”. A 1/2-inch type “C” panel can be substituted for a 5/8-inch type “X”. The 3/4-inch type “C” panel (ULTRACODE) can eliminate a layer of 5/8-inch type “X”. When a type “C” core is listed in the fire test assembly, it must be used to obtain the fire rating.

************************************************************************************************************************

G. Special Core Fire Rated Gypsum Board: ASTM C1396 Section 5 formerly ASTM C36; Type “C” fire resistive core; [1/2] [5/8] [3/4]-inch thick as required to meet UL or WHI fire test assemblies detailed or specified; 48-inches wide; ends square cut; tapered edges. SHEETROCK® Brand [FIRECODE “C”] [ULTRACODE (3/4”)] Panels by United States Gypsum Company (USG).

H. c. Soft Body Impact: Level 2

d. Hard Body Impact: Level 1

J. Fire Rated Abuse, Mold and Moisture-Resistant Gypsum Board: ASTM C1629; ASTM C1396 Section 5 formerly ASTM C36; and Section 7 formerly ASTM C476; 5/8” inch thick is Type X UL Classified for fire-resistive, proprietary treated mold and moisture resistant, noncombustible gypsum core, with mold and moisture resistant paper surfacing on face, back and long edges; tapered long edges; [1/2] [5/8] [3/4] inch thick; designed and tested to offer greater resistance to surface indentation and through penetration than standard gypsum panels; resistant to mold and mildew growth with a score of not less than 10 when tested according to ASTM D3273. b. Surface indentation: Level 3

c. Soft Body Impact: Level 3

d. Hard Body Impact: Level 3

************************************************************************************************************************

Fiber-reinforced gypsum panels are used in areas that need abuse resistance. Because of the dense –hard core, it is necessary to install these panels on 20 gauge studs to prevent “screw spin-out” of thinner gauges. They can be used in areas that normally would have cement block but need the chase cavity and lightweight construction of drywall. They can be finished and decorated the same as drywall. The Type “FRX-G” panels can be substituted for Type “X” panels. Abuse Resistant (AR) panels do not have fiberglass reinforcing mesh on the back. Very High Impact (VHI) panels have the reinforcing fiberglass mesh on the backside of the panel.

************************************************************************************************************************

H. Fiber-Reinforced, Abuse-resistant, Water-resistant, Mold-resistant, and Fire-Rated Gypsum Panel: ASTM C1629; ASTM C1278; meets or exceeds ASTM C1396 and ASTM C1178; Fire resistant Type “FRX-G” as listed in UL; 5/8-inch thick; 48-inches wide; homogeneous composition of gypsum and cellulose fiber core; surfaces and core treated with water-resistant additive; without face or back paper; ends square cut; tapered edges. FIBEROCK® Brand AQUA-TOUGH™ Interior Panels by United States Gypsum Company (USG). Achieving the following minimum test results:
