"Implementing artwork, exhibits, and museums visits into our French language classes: What activities are best for language learning?

French Embassy’s Cultural Services in collaboration with the Alliance Française of El Paso and the UTEP’s Department of Languages and Linguistics are pleased to invite French teachers of all levels to participate in a 4 hour training session led by Gislaine Bellocq, Thélème International, France (theleme-international.fr) entitled “Implement artwork, exhibits, and museums visits in our French language classes: What activities are best for language learning?” The sessions will take place:

WHERE: Liberal Arts

WHEN: Monday, November 4, 2013

FROM: 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM

The number of workshop participants will be limited to 30 people. Participants will receive certificates of attendance at the end of workshop for 4 CPE credit hours. Please complete registration form below and e-mail it to Maria C. Ramirez at MRamirez8@ or send it via fax to (915) 592-0036.

Note this professional development session will be lead entirely in French.

Ghislaine BELLOCQ has been a teacher for many years, in France, Spain and Morocco, where she has conducted a variety of workshops for children and adults.  As an author of a number of books, Ms. Bellocq is currently focusing her research on the relationship between language and the visual arts, leading trainings for teachers in the field.  She is particularly interested in the transversal relationship between art and language (what each field brings to the other) and how this can lead to new approaches to teaching and learning the French language.
