PURPOSE: To reinforce the uses of the EMS. To illustrate that visible light is the smallest portion of the EMS (7.3.19)

TASK: Create a Flipbook that informs and illustrates the information about each portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.

PROCEDURE:

1. On each flap, write the name of the electromagnetic spectrum in this order, starting with the 1st flap.

a. Gamma rays, X rays, Ultraviolet waves, Visible Light, Infrared waves, Microwaves, Radio waves

2. Criteria: (put on the paper above the name)

a. Give an explanation of the type of energy.

b. Tell about the wavelengths, frequency, and energy for each type.

c. At least 2 examples of each type and how they are used.

d. Is each type helpful or harmful for humans? WHY?

e. At least 1 picture for each type!
