What’s a passing score for the CPE?

You must have a minimum score 70 on the exam.

Is there a test out?

Yes, this option is available the first week of class only.

Am I required to pass the CPE in order to pass the course?

Yes, the CPE is administered as the final exam; this exam is pass/fail. You must score a 70 or better on the CPE in order to pass the course.

I’ve already taken the CPE and passed. Can I still take the course?

Yes. If you’ve already passed the CPE, you may enroll in the course. You will be given a different exam to take as your final exam. A word of caution, this is a pass/fail exam and you are required to pass the final exam with a 70 or better in order to pass the course.

How often is the CPE administered in the course?

The CPE will be administered twice during the course. At the beginning of the semester you may opt to “test out”, with a more challenging exam, this option is available the first week of class only.

The CPE will be given during the last week of classes and once during finals week. You may take the exam at either time. There will be no make up exams. The CPE is administered throughout each semester at Santa Fe Community College Assessment Centers. .

I enrolled in CGS 1030 and passed all of the tutorials, and failed the CPE, can I still pass the course?

Sorry, you must pass the CPE to pass the course. If you have taken the CPE during the last week of classes and failed you may take it again during finals week. No other make up exam will be offered. Please be available to take the test during normal class hours.

What other options do I have if I fail the final exam (CPE)?

Sign up for the course again, complete all of the tutorials and retake the CPE at the end of the semester.

You may also study the tutorials on your own, without signing up for the course again. Simply take the CPE at Santa Fe Community College Assessment Center. . Building G-25, NW Campus, 3000 NW 83rd Street, Gainesville, FL 32606 (352). 395-5791. The exam is offered on a walk-in basis MONDAY – THURSDAY; 8:00am - 6:00pm and FRIDAY - 8:00am - 2:00pm
