FSA Writing Quick Tips-Take time to plan-Write your memorized transitional devices and sentence starters right away before planning (Look at the packets given to you in class).-Look for key words in the writing situation. Underline/circle them and make sure to constantly refer back to the writing situation to ensure that you keep your focus.*Argumentation or Informative/Explanatory:-Know the difference between the two...Argumentative you are writing to convince someone that your main thesis is true, and with Informative you are writing to inform the reader.-Thesis Statement is also known as your "claim" in an argumentative essay.If you are not sure on how to write your thesis statement, refer to the writing situation.?Each ESSAY must contain:-Introduction paragraph with HOOK and Thesis Statement or Claim-Multiple body paragraphs with EVIDENCE-Concluding paragraph-Each PARAGRAPH should contain the following:-topic sentence-at least (3) supporting details-concluding sentenceREMEMBER THE ACE STRATEGY...?ANSWER?CITE??EXPAND/ELABORATE*Remember to not skip lines between paragraphs, indent 5 spaces instead.*Remember to use legible handwriting*Remember to use academic vocabulary*Remember to provide sentence structure (some short, some medium, some long)*Remember to give yourself time to review/revise during the drafting process AND after you finish writing.?*Remember to check for conventions (spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and complete sentences).?For assessment rubric, please visit the FSA website under my "links" page. ? ................
