FTP Instructions - Ambassador

Is there an easier way to download files from Ambassador’s FTP site?

There is! We found a great program to transfer files from our site to your computer – and it’s free! It’s called Filezilla, and once you get it installed, you’ll love it!

Simply go to to download the Filezilla client software. (My guess is you are using Windows, and Microsoft Internet Explorer so I’ll continue the instructions with that in mind).

Click on the (recommended) Windows version at the top of the page. (you may be asked if you want to display non-secure items – click [yes]).

After 3 or 4 seconds, the file should begin to download manually, but if it doesn’t click the [manual download] in the green box at the top.

A window like this will pop up, click [Open].

If you get an unknown publisher alert, click [run].

[Agree] to the Terms.

Select whether you wish to make the software available to anyone who uses the computer.

Select all components to install (Check all the boxes).

Select destination folder (default recommended) and hit [next].

Click [Install].

Click [Finish], and a welcome box may appear.

Now that the program has installed, let’s configure it to easily access ambassador’s ftp site.

Locate the red desktop Icon that looks like this, and open it [pic]

(Keep in mind, if you didn’t check the “install desktop icon” in the [Select all components to install] step above, it may not be on your desktop, but you can get to it from start, programs, Filezilla.)

Now to log on to our FTP site, simply fill out the following fields at the top of the window:

Host: ftp. Username: station Password: aaa

(case sensitive)

Then click the [Quickconnect] button to the right of those fields (by the way, next time you open Filezilla you don’t have to fill it out again, just click the little down arrow next to the [Quickconnect] button, and dropdown to station@ftp.

Now you are on our FTP site.

The window on your left is your computer or “Local Site”; the “Remote Site” window is Ambassador’s FTP site. Navigate to the files you want to get from our site, select your destination folder (where you want the file) on your left, double click on the file you want to transfer, and you are good to go.
