Welcome to the 2016 – 2017 Academic Year!
The Winship School is very excited to welcome all scholars back to school! Almost 80 kindergarteners started school today! There were many smiling faces, joyous scholars and even some tears. We look forward to all of the learning, growth and development that will take place this year.
School begins with breakfast at 9:15am in the cafeteria every day. Class begins at 9:30am. All scholars should arrive to school by 9:15am in order to eat breakfast and start the day on time. Students arriving to school after 9:30am will be marked tardy.
- K1 Drop Off: Classrooms (9:15am – 9:30am)
- K1 Pick-Up: Room 104 at 3:25pm
- K2 Drop-Off: Side Entrance (9:15am – 9:30am)
- K2 Pick-Up: Front of the building at 3:25pm
- Grades 1 – 5 Drop Off: Side Entrance (9:15am – 9:30am)
- Grades 1 – 5 Pick-Up: Side Entrance at 3:25 pm
If you are driving your child to school, it is very important that you adhere to the traffic rules and procedures for drop-off and pick-up. Please see below for more information.
Dismissal: Adhere to the "No Parking" signs posted around the circle in front of the school and on Dighton Street. There is a 5-minute grace period for parking at the circle in front of the school during dismissal time only. This grace period will last from 3:25pm-3:30pm. If you will be longer than 5 minutes, please find parking on Chestnut Hill Avenue or on one of the surrounding streets so there is no delay in starting bus dismissal.
If you are picking your child up, please be prepared to check in with the main office. If you need to pick your child up early, please check in at the main office. All visitors must check-in. If you have any questions about the entry or dismissal procedures, please see your child’s teacher.
Finally, Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 11:00am-2:00pm, we will hold our Welcome Back to School event for students, families and community members. There will be games, prizes, food and lots of fun! Every Winship scholar will receive a backpack full of school supplies as well! Please join us.
