Jeopardy Review Assignment

due Monday, May 7th by 6 PM

LET’S PLAY JEOPARDY! For this assignment, you will create a Jeopardy game by developing answers (& questions) for the categories listed below. Since there are 12 categories with 5-dollar amounts associated with each category, you will create 60 questions. Just like the actual Jeopardy game show, your questions will increase in difficulty.

You will need to download the Jeopardy PowerPoint template from the “Review” section of my website. Use the instructions on the following page to construct your game. You can either email it to me (sean.bennett2@) or bring it in on a flash drive so I can upload it in class. In order for me to give you credit for your work, please save your game using just your first & last name. For example,

seanbennett would represent my Jeopardy game.

Your review grade will be based on the quality of your questions & whether or not you complete this assignment on time. Once your Jeopardy is submitted to me, I will put it on my website so that everyone can play it whenever they want. You must take special care to ensure that your questions & answers are accurate so that you do not confuse each other. True/false & multiple-choice questions are not permitted. If you would like to incorporate a figure you may do so. All chapter figures from the learning logs and PowerPoints are available on my website. Keep track of the topics or concepts that you need to brush up on and focus some attention on them as you prepare for the exam.

You can use these categories as you wish in either regular Jeopardy or Double Jeopardy. Your final Jeopardy question can come from any topic we have covered during the entire year.

Creating Jeopardy

Download the “Jeopardy template” from the review section of my website and save it under a different name on a flash drive or your home computer’s hard drive. Below you will find the layout of the PowerPoint, slide-by-slide. Remember that in Jeopardy, contestants are shown the answer (statement) and must come up with the question. Additionally, please remember that your questions should increase in difficulty with the increasing dollar amounts. It will probably be helpful to write your questions on paper first & then consult this list when creating your game. Also, all throughout the year, we covered concepts that applied to earlier information. For example, we discussed many different cell types in the animal physiology unit so do not create all your “Cell” questions from Chapter 6 alone.

Playing Jeopardy

1. Go to my website and select a Jeopardy game to play. After clicking on one, just “Open” it & do not “save.”

2. After the run down of topics, you will see the Jeopardy board. You may now click on the dollar amount in your category of choice to begin the game.

3. Once you have seen the answer & have determined the question that answers it, click anywhere on the screen.

4. When you have seen the correct question, click on the “Back” box to take you back to the main Jeopardy board.

5. Repeat until you have finished the Jeopardy board.

6. Click on the “Double Jeopardy” box in the lower right corner to go to “Double Jeopardy.”

7. You will now see the “Double Jeopardy” screen, Alex Trebeck & now the topics for “Double Jeopardy.”

8. Follow the same procedures as above for playing “Double Jeopardy.”

9. After you have completed the board, click on the “Final Jeopardy.” You will see the ”Final Jeopardy” screen & again Alex will show up. The “Final Jeopardy” answer will appear for you to form your question. Again, click anywhere to advance to the “Final Jeopardy” correct question.

10. Play another game by selecting a new one from my website.
